Obscure 2 PC bug that totally sucks

I don't know if there's anyone around here who's played the PC version of this game...I'm at a point where Mei and Sven arrive at the hospital car park and after killing those sirens, Sven tries to lock the gate...When the gate gets to about three-quarter shut, i keep pressing the button and the stupid gate wouldn't move...I went to the official Obscure 2 forum and a whole lotta folks there seem to hve the same problem...This is insane...This game is very good and engaging...I cannot progress due to this irritating bug...Is there anyone who passed there on PC?I hope the folks at Playlogic Games release a patch fast

The game possiitively rocks...I haven't thoroughly enjoyed a survival horror game like this since Resident Evil 2 & Alone in the dark, but the camera can be ****ty at times...worth buying though

There's a lot of knowed erros in the game Dukelord... For example, the first (and biggest error) it's at the very beggining of the game... If you use a joypad and you don't have configurated de Quick Menu on the controls, the game crashes...
Also, there're big problems with the aimming of the weapons, the character start spining on himself... Also are graphic gliches (sometimes you got stuck on the air when climb up a box) and control problems (for example at the hospital you can't control very well at Corey).
The PS2 Version really rock's! I've loved it (A friend of my have it), but the Pc Version has a lot of errors...
I wrote to PlayLogic TechSupport and the told me that they're working on a patch to solve all this "knowed issues"... But I ask... If they know that a game have THIS kind of probles... Why they release it?!

Playlogic? ouch...

They are not exactly good with support...(I have World Racing 2...still wish they would release a handling patch for it)

Maybe you should rather check on GameFAQs though.

Men... If you read what this discution is, you'll see that it's about the ObsCure 2 for PC!!! Not for the PS2...
It's truth that the PS2 Version was great, but I have some news for you... EVERYBODY CAN'T BUY A PS2... And some of us have the PC game and we really wanna play it on the platform it was released for...
Also, the PS2 Emulator (PCSX2) can't run very well this game...
So please, read the subject of the discution BEFORE you answer
Regards...

Is it gamepad compatible? I know that there's plenty of these cheap PS2-style gamepads that get the job done very well. They even have some decent rumble in it. This can really help in sequences where you need analog control.

I get what you mean. I'm from Argentina as well. A PS2 still costs way above 300usd (no joke). How nice is that? Not nice. Hence why I cling to my PC and buy games for it now and then, though wish I could have a relative in the US who could bring the goodies... Next gen? I'm still using my old PSX or running my discs through the emu.

Anyway, from what I see, perhaps getting one of those El Cheapo joysticks (try Musimundo or Compumundo...) or if you really have money (or want Microsoft to rip you off with the insultive price) a 360 controller could help.

I had issues like this with RE4 and Devil May Cry 3. Some actions practically require an analog pad because those games were indeed thought with said pad in mind.

OH! You could also try joy2key if nothing else works. Just map to the keyboard whatever needs to be triggered. Plus the program has an "autofire" function for repeated key pressing. ermm, if that doesn't solve it, guess you can only hope for a patch.

Good luck! (¡Suerte!)

I'm from Argentina too Alpha Prospector, so that's why I know how much costs a PS2 and the brand new PS3... About the problem with the joysticks, you can buy any kind of Generic USB analog controller, they work very well (right now I have an ASTRO PRO Generic USB Analog Controller and it work really great for games like RESIDENT EVIL 4, DEVIL MAY CRY 3 SPECIAL EDITION and NEED FOR SPEED CARBON). But if you want to use a really great joystick and you don't want to pay a lot for it (And for you, it's gonna be free, 'cause you already have it) you can connect your PSOne Analog Controller (The breautiful DUAL SHOCK) to the computer... Read the section on EMULATRONIA (The WebSite it's in Spanish) about it.
And about the ObsCure 2, it have a lot of problems with the controller type... EVEN WITH THE JOYSTICKS!!! So, I'm still waiting for the patch... I'm hating getting stuck on every place 'cause this dammit Graphic gliché...
See ya soon...

Sorry... My mystake... I haven't read the beggining of your post... I'm sorry... I shouldn't wrote I'M FROM ARGENTINA TOO...

mmm, I was getting interested about this game but two words are coming to my mind: "Bad Conversion". PC games know a lot about that (I still remember the old Chaos Legion for PC, which would crash at startup, apparently due to the cd copy protection or something like that. a patch later fixed it though it would randomly crash anyway or RE3, which felt almost like RE3Beta...)

Well, good luck with the game. I'll read the tutorial, I love my PSone analog pad. Cannot believe it still works after, jeez, almost 9 years. It's a pity how they pwned us with devaluation and practically left us out of two console generations (the last one and this "next-gen").

Going back the Obscure 2, seems it has problems with any kind of input? That's bad. (still check if joy2key can bypass this) Again, good luck with this. You also mentioned graphics glitches. Just in case, update the usual stuff (Directx, video card drivers, etc.) You never know if they can solve some issues.

No and no... I've tryied it all (I'm a Computer Technician), the graphic system it's a dissaster and the JOY2KEY can't baypass the error... Trust me, I've already try it...
The graphic glitches are a great mistake in the main game core... for example, you climb up a box and you still hanging up in the air, and you get stuck... I hate it!!!
And you're right, it's a really bad conversion...
