favorite games that no one knows about

like the title suggests, what are your favorite games that nobody really knows about?

realms of the haunting is my top one. its a horror style shooter but it has more adventure-like qualities to it, most notably live-action cutscenes which are some of the best ive seen in any game to this day. check it out if you get a chance.

edit- this is a site for ROTH for anyone who is intrested.

Which console? Is it still available for sale apart from ebay?
Mine would be Star Ocean snes and Illusion of Gaia/Time snes too

Star ocean snes basicaly built everything star ocean is today from the battle to stuff like originality and rythmitic sense(talents) to skills (gotta love a high end motormouth with joshua, especially when he casts high end spells three times without pause, imagine metoer 3 times in a row) and the story was excellent as well as characters very in-depth

Illusion of Gaia/Time snes was .........sigh excellent had potential to be a Zelda rival those days, 1996 and it was really interesting currently playing it again on computer(well at least until I find my controller) and will definetly buy a snes consoleagain to play my cart again.
Both are rpgs with Illusion of time/gaia being more action/adventure
Retro is sweet, bless those times.

By the way jonc2006, thanks for your info on my earleir problem, I replied and I am still solving it.

ROTH is for the pc, DOS to be exact. it runs well if you use the DOSbox emulator or VDMsound. i got my copy off amazon for less than $20.

and like i said, i wish i could have been more help but since i dont have the game, im limited in what i can recommend to do. hopefully you will find a way to fix the problem your having.

Not my ''favorite'' game, but a great game that went completely under the radar :

Pathologic, the game got a lots of flaws that's for sure, but it's mostly things like ''walking for long time to run around'' and maybe some ennemies being way too strong. (Walking out at night can easily kill you, EASILY)

The game got a nice athmosphere, a nice story, and a lot of depth, which gave it a unique feeling.

jonc: soulblazer? the snes game?

As for me..

Starlancer, for Windows and Dreamcast.
San Francisco Rush 2049 for N64 and DC.
And possibly, Magic Knight Rayearth for Saturn. Excelent RPG-Adventure game.

Doki Doki Panic for the Famicom Disk System (The original SMB2)
Sweet Home for the Famicom (Major inspiration for Resident Evil). I haven't played through the whole thing but it's cool to see some similarities between that game and RE.

All though its pretty popular, no one seems to know adventure games anymore, so I guess I will go with The Dig, flawless story.

Shadow of Memories/Destiny, it has to be one of my favourite games ever even if most of the plot makes little sense. I loved the atmosphere and time-travelling puzzles. Fending off 15th century wenches with a mobile phone never gets old.

Yeah it's certainly not for everyone, my friends hate it. It's a cult game, I love it personally.
