Super Mario 64 DS

Hi all,
I know it is not the place but i need to know something.
I am playing this game now(look at the title).
I am at the Princess's secret slide and i have to complete the lap under 21 secs to get a star. I also watched the shortcut on youtube but i cant jump as i see on youtube. Did anyone do it on an emulator. Is it me or the emulator that cant jump

(Maybe i cant jump because i am white??

). I always fall into the void, no matter how much i try. I probably lost 3-4 hours trying to jump better.
I also checked a lot of walkthru s from the gamefaq.com. And they show the lap as too easy. Thanx for answers.

Isn't it possible to get the star without using the shortcut?
