New Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer

This is a pretty weird trailer. Just when I thought mgs4 was going to be another splinter cell clone, hideo surprised me with this one.

The new enemies seem similar to stuff in the berserk mangas for those who are familiar with it. It's very gory and definitely interesting. Check it out.

because of people like you we get real material as late as we do.
that being said, the trailer was okay, i guess. that cheapsound effect on the voices annoyed me heavily and the bosses seem to be a little over the top this time around.

Well yeah, a fat guy on roller skates, running-on-the-water vampire, 150 year old fart with a sniper and an astronaut with a flamethrower are perfectly normal.

With that said, i'm also not really digging the design of bosses :/

The whole MGS1 crew is dead. Laughing Octopus, Raging Raven, Screaming Mantis and Crying Wolf are victims of war and are all women. Just watch the goddamn trailer.

Not exactly bosses.Decoy octopus was killed by the fox hound virus before Snake had the time to fight with him.

Because Splinter Cell went "urban and warfare" first although it came way later? Check Splinter Cell - Double Agents and Splinter Cell - Convictions for more details.

splinter cell is a pathetic copy, all it has accomplished is the brilliant online mode that i still play to this day.
but the single player game is something i cant stand. no story, no characters, good graphics jsut dont make a game for me.
not that MGS has never disapointed, but ever since MGS 3 they have earned unquestioned trust again from my side.
i wish there were more details on the online mode of mgs4, since ubisoft has completely ****ed up that aspect and dropped it completely for the future.

It's somewhat obvious that they are female to, or atleast "where" female. Each of the suits portray some female aspects;

Wolf has a very feminine ass, and it has breasts.
Octopus clearly has breasts, female legs and posture.
Mantis has feminine legs and some suggestion of a female torso.
Raven, whilst you don't see much of her, you can to some degree tell the body is based around a woman.

They all have female voices, distorted, but they are women, in various states of pain, grief and insanity.

I fear the more power artists are given, the more they are able to express intelligent and subtle concepts, the more intelligent the audience must be, and lets be honest, 70% of the gaming population out there are un-intelligent and very naive.

Reading comments on the video, it makes you wonder if anyone actually got some of the very clever ideas portrayed, and how far the development team have come in their ability to finally tell a simple story with some amazingly complex disguises.

Finally we're able to see art and character design to make us think, and people can't even spot that they where once human women.

Hideo Kojima even said they were all women in the Q&A after the trailer was shown at the conference.
I can't wait to play this, eveytime sumthin new is unveiled it makes me want to buy a PS3 even more.
