Anyone else notice that Falcon4Ever's avatar is way past the standard size limit for avatars (179.83 KB)? It's blasphemy!

I've always been wondering who the chick in your avatar was.

I'll be able to play later today. Perhaps we should amalgamate with other emulation forums so we get a larger memberbase. Then the pcsx2 server might become more active and thus more popular.

Okay thats a stupid idea, any real ideas for making pcsx2 server more popular?

like i've said before.

servers with short respawn times are more popular.
but falcon dosn't want to do it.

its so annoying dieing, then waiting 15 seconds, and then going out and a sniper head-shots you immediately and then waiting another 15 seconds...

plus if you're really far away from the enemy, then you have to walk another 15 seconds to get to the action

I say 5, Falcon would say 15.

So lets compromise and go with 1, ok ?

lol

well i guess we can have a vote here or something.

i'm pretty sure no-one here likes the 15 seconds except for thanakil and falcon.

i say thanakil because he always disagrees with me, even if its just for the sake of disagreeing.

i like 5 seconds personally.

instant respawn dosn't let you see who killed you, so 0 seconds is bad.

I'd go with either 5 or 10.
5 is a little short, so defending is gonna become very easy.
15 is long, it makes both defending and simply having fun harder.

Instant/almost-instant respawn are not good, since they really break the balance and making offense a PITA.
Ex : Imagine having to run all the way to the last capture point everytime when on offense, while the defending team spawns right beside it. It gives them quite a big advantage over you, too big. The time it'll take you to kill someone, another of his friend will already have respawned, which can't be said for your team (offense).

7 to 10 seconds isn't too bad. Is a little too short to keep the balance intact, but we can live with it.

the highest i'd go is 7 seconds.

and you are forgetting something about the instant respawn time.

it may break the balance between Defending and Invading, but it dosn't break the balance of the game.

the teams alternate between Def and Inv, so theres always and equal oppurtunity for both teams.

and always the better team will win.

the only way this is broken is if there is an uneven number of games of Def and Inv.

YOU are overlooking something .
It actually breaks the balance by forcing a new balance.
With the original respawn time, if you have both team good at defense, but one good at offense too, that one will take the advantage.
But with respawn times too short, both team will stay equal, since the team good at offense will still get it butt kicked by the defense team always being alive.

So instead of one team getting the advantage because it's better on both side, it will actually be both team becoming equal in final results, because of the respawn time giving advantage to only one side (the defense one).

While it "balance" the scores, the actual balance of the game itself is broken,
