if you switch your class you end up killing youself, and sometimes you have to wait 15 second spawn time. not sure if in the spawn-room its different, but i think i tried it in the PCSX2 server and i had to wait 15 seconds b4 respawning... anyways, i'm talking about @ every Control point, you should be able to switch your class. like press "e" at a control point, and it opens up an option similar to the spy's disguise move. only you actually switch your class for real...

Switching your class at a control point would ruin defending, seriously. Just think about the ramification of it -_-. It would remove the whole pre-planning thing. That would simply end up removing part of the strategy involved to make the game more noob-friendly, while removing part of what makes the game interesting. It would make defending way too easy too. It would completely break the maps as we'd have to make defending a lot harder to accommodate for being able to switch classes on the spot. But more than anything... Switching classes this easily would remove from the strategy part of the game simply to be more noob-friendly. You shouldn't remove stuff just because people can't learn fast enough on their own. Seriously, part of the game is learning how to anticipate what class you should use. It's part of how to play the game, learning what game will fit better which situation. If it's attack, some classes are better than others, but every class can still be used. Depending on how well you use them. Defending, same thing. Then it depends on what the enemy uses, or if you'll play as a team or alone. But all of that is part of the game, part of learning how to plan what to do, part of the strategy.

Lol. It's crazy how this whole TF2 phenomenom all started...
Storytime children. Sit Indian Style and listen... First, I got my high speed and I wanted to play a game that others might have online. My favorite was Half-Life 2: Deathmatch (which I was seriously starting to own at), but no one really plays that game. John Aiton said that he had it and would play it with me for teh lulz. We started playing for a while and had fun. Then Thana played a round with us and owned (obviously ). So then we decided to play something that was newer and that was more of the hype nowadays. Since I had The Orange Box, I decided to try TF2. I was really intimidated to play it since I tried it before and could never understand the ropes of the game and never played it after that until Thana and John said that they would train me so that it would be less intimidating when I have coaches to help me learn the game. We started playing it and then my bud bobrocks said that he had the game and would play with us. It was getting really fun and bobrocks wanted to try voice chat through Steam (which sucked) and then we upgraded to Skype. Then PCXL-Fan got the game for teh lulz also and played and voice-chatted with us also. Then Cottonvibes, ref, Chrono, skoreanime, and HCR all jumped on the bandwagon. There you go folks, the history of how TF2 is what it is on NGemu today.

what i mentioned would bring about new strategies and techniques. and its not really n00b friendly as only a pr0 would be able to quickly switch classes in the middle of a battle. a n00b would get shot while standing still. but something like that would give Control Point defenders an advantage. So maybe something else can be done to even it out for the attackers... but theres no use for me to think about it, since even if i do think of a great idea, i'm not a TF2 developer ![]() Quote:
![]() btw, does HCR have TF2? (s)he didn't want to play with us on the PCSX2 server earlier today... not sure if its because it was VAC protected, or because (s)he didn't have the game...

I'm on a cap, so I left it at getting CSS and possibly TF2 at retail (didnt do that yesterday, for lack of time, so I basically was stuck without games ;p). I might today, if I finish early.
Pff, at least Xfire marks all your games correctly (at least locally)... I just keep hearing horror stories about VAC, can't help but feel worried that all my games could stop working online at the drop of a hat. This concern is exclusive to VAC, and does not extend to the other successful cheating prevention utilities such as Punkbuster. |

Which mean they wouldn't have to try and learn the class they're playing, they can just throw it away for another instead. By doing that people don't have to explore the classes anymore. They don't have to explore the strength and weakness of a class. They can just ignore everything that make a class what it is, and just switch back and forth between other classes. (the only way I would see it being a good idea : give people a limited number of time they can switch classes at a control point each game. Maybe based on number of CP captured. That way people can switch, but they don't have carte blanche to ignore EVERYTHING at the same time)

My friend has the G1S. It's all right I suppose. The screen isn't the greatest though, my Z96Js has a much brighter screen.

I should get something good next time, but like I said before, I don't want to get a dedicated gaming laptop that costs $1000+ that's going to die on me within a year. It seems like that's the trend that I've noticed ever since I decided to only purchase laptops. I'm better off getting the cheaper ones. So if something does happen again, I wouldn't have lost too much.

My dad and sister have had various laptops in the 1000-1500 price range and my dads latest one he's had for 3 years and it'll probably last another 9 or 10 years (not including the hdd and perhaps optical drive) Those $1000 laptops usually aren't gaming laptops either as my sisters $1100 laptop came with a 8400m-g which is far from decent and only plays 3 or 4 year old games decently. If you want a gaming laptop they are usually at least $1400 - 2500 or if your totally insane $4500 like what jonc2006 paid for his Alienware SLI, dual hdd laptop. One thing good about spending more on a laptop is its design is usually better and it won't crap out on you in a few years.
