Setting that aside, the Elite is black, has HDMI, and comes with the 120 GB hard drive (which is 200$ off the shelf for non-elite owners). It comes to about 480$, but the price could drop to 430$ if the rumors are true. Quote:

Most of the people who would complain about the 360 losing exclusives are either fanboys... or kids/teenagers who own one... and want to prove that they have the 1337-est console out of them all. I know that not all kids and teenagers are that way... but you have to face the fact that some kids and teenagers ARE that way... and be glad that you are not one of them...

Most of the people I know have really enjoyed their Xbox 360s so far. One of my friends plays his almost non-stop (he was a PS2 fan before, but once I told him the price of the PS3 he flipped). I have another friend who sold his PS3 and just has an Xbox 360 now. It's real easy to fall into the trap that the news media lays out in front of you. But these people don't read 1up/GameStop/whatever all day, and they could care less....

YES you are allowed to have an opinion, but don't express it as if yours is the only one that matters. Because then you would be very wrong In this particular case, there are plenty of happy 360 owners (flare, myself, others) who will gladly disagree with you.

while there are many people happy with the 360, n im glad they feel their purchase was well deserved, im afraid it just isnt for me. As pointed out, the better exclusive games (ones id play) are not exclusive any more, apart from the ones MetalMurphy highlighted from that highly incorrect list, i imagine Halo 3 (MGS) and Fable 2 (MGS) for example will also end up on the PC eventually, but then out of them 2 im more likely just to play Fable 2 ![]() But at the end of the day i have a high end PC, the exclusives i will play are comming to PC now (or probably deemed to in the future, regardless of if its announced or not), im not overly keen on the reliability of the consoles as a whole (33% failure rate is kind of a put off), so i dont really get left with any feasable reason to get one. Hell im not even sure if im going to get any of these next gen consoles :P at least not until the PS3 gets some really good exclusive games released, providing they dont go down the same path as the 360's exclusives list.

Yeah, but whatever any of us say is speculation, there are games and consoles I like that may not match other people's taste in gaming, I like a number of unpopular XBOX titles, and am not wowed by many of the popular games, dislike is too strong of a word, I prefer Capcom vs SNK, Techmo Arcade Classics, all 3 Midway Arcade Treasures on the XBOX to say Halo and Halo 2...Its my opinion, and my opinion is neither right nor wrong...just as everyone else's opinion is neither right nor wrong... So far I'm unimpressed by the 360 and the PS3, but that's my opinion and I'm entitled to it as others are entitled to agree or disagree with it...

I tend to agree with the fact that most of the best titles that xbox has that playstation doesn't are simultaneously or eventually released for the pc. So my opinion would be that if you're a fan of pc games and you've got a decent rig, you won't be missing out on much if you don't get a 360. But hey, purchasing and playing whatever you like should be the main priority.

Well I'm glad I have an XBOX to play Halo, Halo 2, Jade Empire, Fable, Doom 3, and a number of other games that have PC ports, from what I hear, Halo isn't very good on the PC, I don't want to buy Vista to play Halo 2, and I don't have a fast enough computer to even play many of these games, even if I did it was cheaper to buy an XBOX than to buy Vista and a Direct X 10 video card to play these games. I don't want a 360, but I could imagine someone buying a 360 to play these games and other 360 games instead of having to buy Vista and a Direct X 10 video card. Even when I get to upgrade to a kickass PC *someday* I won't be running Vista, or a Direct X 10 video card, so my PC gaming options will be limited, and I know I'm not the only one to feel that way... But to each their own...

True, but I heard it was worse on the PC, for $7.29 I got my monies worth... I just can't imagine buying an OS for a game, i.e., Halo 2... By the time Halo 3 is released for the PC who knows what the requirements will be, I'd not buy a 360 or Halo 3, let alone the legendary $129 version, but imagine the PC required to run Halo 3! Thanks but no thanks, Vista hogs resources as is and that's without a game like Halo 3 running in it!

I personally think that Halo never should have left the Xbox boundaries. A Mac port wouldn't hurt, but a PC port can kill the Xbox game sales. So far, the only differences from the PC and Xbox versions of Halo is that the PC version has anti-aliasing and smoother framerates.

And why is it that only 360 owners find my opinions STRONGLY impressive upon such a matter? I am not saying mine is the only one that matters... but I do have the option to back up my own opinions with apparent facts, don't I? If you can counter them in the same way, please do... and it'll look better than you trying to prove that those opinions come from a 360 hater.Edit: And not that there's no one who would agree with me. Would you classify those people as 360 haters as well? Anyways, I'm going off this one... as it's a bit too hot... and sensitive 360 fans will probably be offended by it... although it's just an opinion. (Sincerely, is losing exclusive titles that bad...?)

Games for Windows is just like MS saying "we give you this but if you actually want it the right way you SHOULD be getting a 360".

Another key point about the elite that no one has brought up yet is that it also includes the extra heatsink that MS has been whacking into refurbished models, so until the Falcon goes retail it's gonna be the most reliable 360 yet.

Only the ones they started shipping NOW do. So be careful when buying one. And why MS is doing this only on the elite is another thing i just can't figure out...

The way I see it is that MS are simply focusing resources on getting rid of all the currently available Premium models and at the same time working on the Falcons. I could imagine there's little production of the current premium models going whilst the elite is out, and whilst the Falcon is nearing retail. Kinda like the shifting of the 60GB PS3 I guess to make way for the 80... |

But there are still millions of defective 360s on shelfs that aren't getting recalled and replaced. That's just... outrageous really. And worst of that, defective consoles are STILL being manufactured. A couple of months ago i wanted to spend some money, i was so close to bringing a 360 home, but the deciding factor was (besides paying for live, i'll always be agaisnt that one) was the defect rate. I'm sure there are many people with the same opinion.

Oh believe me I'm one of them, I've wanted to buy a 360 since the beginning of the year now but I've constantly put it off until a hardware revision. It's a confusing matter really, the 3 year warranty is somewhat of an incentive to get a Premium, should it fail within those 3 years it aint too much of a biggy. OOORRRRRRR do you sit and wait for the Elite which is somewhat more reliable than the Premium but still potential to the failure rate of the Premiums. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRR do you just wait until early 2008 for the Falcon... Hmmzors... |

You really don't need Xbox Live to play online. If you've ever heard of the tunneling applications, you could use them to play Xbox 360 over the internet without using Live (granted, all people really play on them is Halo 2). Nevertheless, if Sony charged for their online service, would you pay for it? I have a feeling you would.
