silent hill 4 pc

does anyone know if the silent hill 4 pc version works under an XP system? im considering to buy it but all i see on amazon is one that is made for win 98. it could be some sort of typo but if not, i find that extremely odd due to the fact that 98 has been out for a looooooong time now, and this game being fairly recent, why would they make the only version of it for an outdated os? is there another version specifically for xp or what?

Yeah, it works under XP; so does SH2 and 3. There's no special version for 98 (it works under Windows 98 / Me / 2000 / XP AFAIK).

alright thanks, i got both 2 and 3 for the pc and on amazons descriptions of the system requirements, it lists 98/me/2000/xp as compatible operating systems but the one for 4 only says 98/me so it was kinda confusing me for a bit.

I think it does run in XP, but maybe I can check it out tomorrow. I wish I had the box, I thought it ran in XP, I have the DVD version.

5 gigs...eek!

I think... around 4.5GB? Hmm... dunno... lemme find the disc first. Last time, I played the game on a fairly crappy rig... and it run pretty well in XP. It runs kind of faster in Win 98, though.

Well it's noticeable, and it can get annoying, but you can still play the game alright.

It appeared to be around 3.5 gigs, I installed it today and ran it a little bit, it seemed to run ok.

I don't know of any problems with XP.

HP Pavilion ZV6000 Review (pics, specs).

its pretty good actually, i cant play the latest stuff but it can handle games like halo and the silent hill series flawlessly. i also added some more ram so i have 1GB now. the majority of my harddrive space is taken up by games. i literally have hundreds of them, and thats not including the stuff i have for my emulators. that link i posted has the HD size listed as 40GB, i actually have 80, and im down to about 6 now. gotta make the most of it. sad thing though, i have to part with my laptop next week because i have to send it to hp to get the hinges fixed.

Yeah, I got Silent Hill 4 for $3.99 at Big Lots, I didn't see Silent Hill 2, but I snagged it for the PS2 for around $6.50.
