Tomb Raider Anniversary
Anyone checked this game out? It's a remake of the original Tomb Raider, and since I've never played any of the Tomb Raider games I decided to get it.
Here's a screenshot running on my system ( AMD 3000+ & Geforce 5900 PCX ) and it's running great and works flawlessly with the Xbox 360 controller. |

Yeah I'm really impressed, the PSX Tomb Raider games were always what people considered good and then they went really downhill after that and started giving the franchise a really bad name. I'm not sure exactly how true this game is to the original but it's damn fun that's for sure.

I dunno why, but I could never stay interested in Tomb Raider, any version.
IIRC I have Tomb Raider 2, 3, 4, and 5, the last revelation and lost artifact being 4 & 5...

yeah, this is looking rather interesting. as long as they didn't change things up too much i'd love to play the originals again. probably the only tomb raider games i could stand were the first two.

I've got the original on psx,
I wouldn't like to play this again on the PC. But its a good idea to re release such a classic for those that missed out first time round.

I just tried the demo on my crappy rig (PIII 800 and Geforce FX 5200) and I must say Crystal Dynamics made a very good work. You feel that is not a PC port. With all options at max (shadows, water effects,....) with a 1024*768 resolution and 4xAA, It run almost fluently.
It proves that C.D. made a great optimisation work. And that you don't need a 8800 gtx for playing recent games (who said Capcom?). Anyways, I fell I will buy it when it will be released. I never played the first (at least until the end), a good occasion for me. |

The graphics sure are nice... compare the old fmv's to the current graphics
![]() I really liked TR7 and i'll definitely be getting this game too. I enjoy about every TR very much (never played 6 though) even though the game didn't evolve that much from 1-5. Dunno i always like the puzzles and idea, and imo the areas you got to play at always were interesting enough to keep me satisfied.
