I thought it'd be too early to sell, wasn't Carbon out around November last year? Yeah, I'm too lazy to check... I haven't played Carbon, and I wasn't impressed that much with Most Wanted, although I have Most Wanted for the XBOX and PC. I might rent Carbon sometime for the PS2...

for the lazy - the teaser trailer shows car damage, so I think that's the feature they're going to promote this particular NFS on. Just wondering if it'll be just like the previous ones with damage or that there'll be a little more to it....Also, they're a bit late with the announcement compared to the previous years

I'm so tired of the Underground BS. That **** was "cool" five years ago or whatever when Fast and the Furious came out... and even then it was lame. Just like EA milking the proverbial cow's teat. I want a new Need for Speed that goes back to its roots at least! |

well, Burnout is also an EA franchise (ever since the third), so I don't think they're gonna make it just like Burnout. However, fancy camera angles have been in the series since Hot Pursuit 2, so crashes from fancy angles seems definately something they would add in. The featured car is a Mazda RX-7. Nice car to put in there, it doesn't tell much about the featured cars because an RX-7 could be considered either an exotic or import tuner (most likely the last, though). It looks beat up and has stupid stickers on it, but doesn't look tricked out. The setting is in the daylight and from the looks of it it could be some sort of sequel to Most Wanted.

Let's leave aside the graphics for a while. For the NFS series I really enjoyed NFS3: This one was something I enjoyed playing on LAN, brand new stuff... then there was NFS: Porsche, real good environment, enjoyed playing solo a full course + the tests for the licence were awesome. Last one i enjoyed was NFS: UG2, music blended perfectly with the whole concept, and whole town was nicely made. Most Wanted & Carbon didn't keep me playing for a long time. ShadowDancer: Who's the chick on your avatar? HOT! |

Underground 2 was good, but for me it was too easy, i completed it within a few days, carbon was basically a rehash of underground so it didnt grab me very much, plus the graphics felt a step back from most wanted. But to me Most Wanted is the best one since NFS3, simply as its nice and enjoyable, has nice graphics and it takes a long time to complete!

Most Wanted I thought was pretty good while underground 2 was good but very unoptimized (a.k.a. slow for what it was doing on screen). Haven't tried carbon due to bad player reviews. Every series EA touches seems to go down pretty quickly. I don't think they spend enough time on sequel designs or game optimization. Battlefield 2+ series anyone?

Just a warning: If you want to get it because of the pursuits, stick with NFS3, cause TDU doesn't add anything to it, it doesn't even have spike strips. Still it's fun, it's just a shame there's no way to outrun a triple badge, where the whole island goes after you. Btw, mind that I haven't played Most Wanted myself, I wanted to do, mainly because it reminded me of the good old NFS days when we could still drive during daytime

Personally my favs were hot pursuit, and underground 2. Underground 2 you could interchange all parts and drive around where MW was kits basicaly. And as for carbon havnt seen it yet, Can anyone put up some shots? But i may go and "buy" a copy if it looks good

As far as I'm concerned it all went to hell after underground 2. Everything since has been really average. Not bad, just meh. The Burnout games have been getting steadily worse since Burnout 3 for that matter. EA driving games just seem to be getting to the point where they strip all skill and challenge from the game until you're left with an ultra-fast and great-looking game where you might as well be on ****ing rails.
