next-next gen consoles

Is there gonna be a ps4, an xbox 540, or an omega nintendo...it kinda seems like we are running out of ideas for consoles and that we will end up with the same thing for a decade. will we end up being limited to pc use because of the graphics ends up being limited on consoles. what about a super console-computer...microsoft, sony, and nintendo joining forces to make the ultimate gaming system.

or will a new console be introduced to this constantly expanding gaming universe we've created...anyways, what do you guys think

I think that depends on how the PS3/360/Wii do this generation. I'm optimistic all three will do well, but based on how well they do, each company will decide how to make a successor...

Depending on how HD/Blu Ray work out this generation will determine the next platform for consoles as well. I'm like a lot of people who are happy with DVD, but in 2009 when digital cable is required and analogue cable is eliminated, HDTVs will be cheaper and people will slowly migrate towards Blu Ray or Hi Def.

I think people will have a better idea of the future in a few years, I think it's too early to determine how well the PS3/360/or Wii are going to pan out, and that will determine the future...

Technology will keep moving on, so it will become cheaper as well. I'm fairly confident we will see a new batch of consoles in the future. It's a very interesting market and within 10 years who knows what we can buy for 500-600 €

HD tvs will have become reality to most people. Perhaps we won't see a focus on even more increased detail, but what about a single console being able to do render on 2 HDtvs for some dual screen gaming, rather than splitscreen?

Originally PS3 was supposed to have 2 outputs for two displays. That was my first thought. Co'op on two TV's

Split screen on wide screen TV's is much better than without wide screen.

Microsoft-Xbox[whatever the highest supported resolution is] (Xbox 360 should of been Xbox 1080)
Nintendo-Revolution (I really like this name, it shouldn't of been Wii)

being that wii isn't great graphically compared to ps3 and xbox 360 odds are nintendo will pretty easily be able to create a next generation console as for sony and microsoft i have no idea how they could top 360/ps3 except maybe like a mini computer thing hooking up to a TV

Sony playstation will always will be #1, sony comes out wit the best things anyone can hope for, i wont care for anything else that comes out, i can stick wit my ps3 and be happy for a very very long time.
