Resident Evil 4 (PC) Question (Moved from PC Screenshots forum by me)

"Post Moved By me from Resident Evil 4 Misc PC Screenshots thread into the Game Discussion Thread".

The game is now out in America according to Amazon.com, the Ubisoft Store and EB Games online store, which now have the game Available to order.

I have just ordered the PC version of Resident Evil 4 off of Amazon.com even though it's probably going to be crappy, as I like gaming on my PC more because it's easier than having to hook up the Gamecube, I can sit at my computer and browse the web while playing Resident Evil 4.

I would play through emulation, but unfortunately the Gamecube Emulators are not advanced enough combined with crappy specs to play Resident Evil 4 at a playable speed. Not to mention I have no way to back up my Gamecube games anyway.

Is there anyone that has this game in the Just released American Version (USA) that can confirm if this was at least patched before it was released in the USA, or will I have to wait a while for a patch to add Shader and lighting effects?

The American release better of been patched, or else I'll be wondering what the hell they have been doing since the problem was addressed back with the release in Taiwan, up till now a good 3 -5 months later.

Wait, don't tell me. I waited 3 - 4 months from the Taiwan release, and almost 2 months since European release, and the game wasn't patched before it hit store shelves in America. If that is so what the hell have they been doing in the past 2 - 4 - 5 months and why the hell did it take so long to hit American stores if they couldn't be bothered to patch it before releasing it?

I want to know, because it should be arriving today hopefully, and I just want to know what I'll expect as I'm used to playing the Gamecube version on my Gamecube

Can Anyone Answer My question? Surely there is someone in the USA who has got the American Version now, I've waited almost the whole day for an answer on this and a whole 5 - 7 days when I had it posted in the Resident Evil 4 Thread in PC Screenshots and still have not received an answer yet. Thanks if someone can answer my question.

This guy does.

Also, why not just emulate the PS2 version? The extras alone are worth it.

I had said my PC doesn't nearly have enough power to emulate a PS2 or Gamecube at a playable speed.

I currently have an AMD64 X2 3800+ @ 2.0 Ghz With a Geforce 6150LE, 1024 Megabytes of Ram (128 - 250 Megabytes shared by the onboard Geforce 6150LE) with no way to upgrade my video card.

I tried playing Twisted Metal Black and only get about 10 - 18 Frames per Second ingame. If my PC can't handle Twisted Metal Black, how on earth will I be able to emulate Resident Evil 4 on PCSX2 at a playable or enjoyable speed?

And as NF said, your link is broken

Omg Dubblepost

Is there anyone that can answer my question(s) in my first post that has the American version of this game.

Thanks if anyone can answer my question(s).

@The Mods, I thought it would be alright to bump this back up by doubleposting, as I have not received another reply in two days and this thread was drifting almost down to the bottom of this page with my question(s) Unanswered

I don't have the US PC version... but according to RE fan site 'The-horror', the US version is the light-patched version : Resident Evil 4 PC Released & more! - The Horror Is Alive

US version has the patch. With the patch... the PC version is not that BAD... it still has the huge advantage of 8xAA and 16xAS.. which makes it look a lot better than PS2 version in this deparment. I'd play it over PS2 version any day... I really like AA and high-res.

I forgot to reply in this thread again. It appears as you said that the US Version is Pre-Patched

I had just received this game yesterday and am quite impressed with it except for the crappy too bright makes your eyes bleed cutscenes.

I've posted an additional Resident Evil 4 (PC) Screenshots thread here to post my ingame screenshots. Anyone else can post Screenshots in that thread also.

The other thread for Resident Evil 4 (PC) was becoming more of a discussion than a screenshots thread, so I took the opportunity to make a thread Purely for Resident Evil 4 (PC) Screenshots.
