The worst game crash youve had?

Just been thinking about an old game I was playing called Alien3 for the Sega Genesis. The game was long, hard and frustrating at times but I managed to make it to the last level of it, only too see a corrupt image halt my long run, which I think was probably down to the Sega Genesis overheating.

So what game crashes have you experienced that really cheesed you off?

There was a oblivion crash that really pissed me off =_=
I rarely ever used real save at the time; I used auto save and quick save...

Oblivion had a bug that when ever you hit too many npc/mobs at once, you would kill the future save files that every time you save the game crash, and the save files become corrupted...and guess what...I didn't know that till after, and I covered up my quick and auto save...I finished almost all of the default quests and gazillions of mod quests.... yet I am still pissed =_=

Lego Star Wars actually giveme an assload of trouble. Every time I install it, it never fails that 3 days later, the game wont launch anymore. Not to mention the fact that the autoplay never starts, and that the installer pops up instead every time i put the disc into my computer.

Well, this particular crash was due to

1 - Mother nature.
2 - My stupidity on not using my power surge protector.

I was playing FFXI one, very, very stormy night. In a group, grinding away at monsters for experience when FLASH-CRACK-BOOM! About 100 meters behind my house lightning struck. My computer shut off, blew up my graphics card, burnt my RAM to a crisp, and corrupted my hard drive.

Other then that, I don't recall having a game crash on me at all. I like to keep my computer nice and tidy .

Final Fantasy VIII would lock up at that part of the ending where Ellone, Kiros, and Ward go to visit Laguna in the field. Sometimes it would freeze shortly before then, but it would never go past that point. I tried again sometime later, starting from scratch, on my friend's Playstation that he let me borrow (I was using ePSXe beforehand) and it wouldn't even play the second disc. I worked hard on that game too, but I never had the opportunity to see the ending until about a year later when I managed to borrow the PC version from another friend. Well, actually, he gave it to me because he never plays it. I still have it

I also remember getting countless BSoD's and other crashes in the PC version of Final Fantasy VII. What's odd is that Eidos (whom did the porting job for FFVII) practically said that the BSoD's were normal and had to be expected, because the problem was pretty common and they didn't know what caused it. The other crashes would happen on my (then) new computer, which had an ATi Rage 128. I don't know if the card was a lemon or if they were all like that, but it failed to display some things correctly and it would crash the game EVERY TIME Cid performed one of his limit breaks. So I said "screw this" and got a Voodoo 3. Never complained since.

And once my Gamecube decided to stop playing Smash Bros for some reason. I did nothing with the disc, didn't drop it or scratch it or anything, and there were no visible marks on the disc. The game was pretty much brand new too, only a few weeks old. I thought the Gamecube just decided to die, so I brought it back to Wal-Mart and got it replaced. It didn't work, the game still failed to run. So I brought the GAME back and got it replaced, and that worked fine. To this day I have no idea what the Hell happened.

That's all I can recall for now.

FF8pc: It would crash right after the Ragnarok scene with Squall and Rinoa, time after time. Even trading the game for a new copy didn't help. Never have I been as pissed off like back then. I tried some desperate measures: I looked through the files and I found a wave file that corresponded with some wind-sound effect playing during the scene where it crashed. I moved it to the recycle bin, and it didn't crash anymore. Weirdest solution ever...

Oblivion: A harddrive crash causing me to lose ~15 to 20 hours of the game. **** happens.

Shenmue 1 and REC:Veronica: Both have problems running properly because of my drive not reading the discs properly

One stuck in my memory is Silent Bomber from Ps1. Level 11 or 12 boss i believe is one of the harderst i came across (at that time) and was just pain in the ass. But because of some bug in the game when you beat him and exit the level the game never takes you to the next level. As of today i have beaten the boss coutless times and never got to finish the game -_-.

Lineage 2... game crashed my system due to overheats, and i was in the middle of a Castle Siege too... (huge warfare) so i went pick only the best parts and with some cooling system parts to keep my next gen PC turn into an ultimate gaming system under 1k. Trial and error i guess
