Call of Duty 4 revealed!

Talk about a major switch I had totaly lost interest on CoD franchise but they really managed to get my attention again. Can't wait for this one. Unlike CoD3 this one will have a PC version ^^

Anyway, here's the trailer:
HD Version: Call of Duty 4 - Trailer HD
SD Version: Call of Duty 4 - Trailer

Cool, can't wait, I really love the CoD series. The best WW games by far and I often think of CoD now when I'm out in the forests running like crazy with my assault rifle and having these excercises myself in the army.

In a way you can call it a direct sequel to the rest of the COD series.

Treyarch should stick to making Spider-man games. Infinity Ward ftw.

Cool, urban and modern style! Last I checked, Battlefield 2 was the only title that was kind of set in this style... and it didn't look this good! Two thumbs up!

Edit: And by "look this good", I meant... well... more than 5 helicopters in one map, a bunch of tanks, a lot of soldiers on screen and so on!

Whoa, a modern COD? Sweet.

I hated COD, loved COD2 and 3. Hmm I wonder if the HD trailer is available for download on XBox Live...

Is this really going to be on the PC? I can't find anything that says it's going to be on the PC.

I just hope they don't use the same annoying health status like in CoD2 were it felt you were immortal as you could take on infinite amount bullets, you just had to take a bit cover (I guess he pulled out the bullets from his body meanwhile too eh? ) and in a few secs you're just fine again even after being hammered by a machine gun or tasting grenade fragments or get hit by airstrikes.

Did anyone else have trouble telling if this was human?... For a while I thought I was looking at one of the monsters from Shadow of the Colossus.

One thing that always gets me nowadays is the fact that every "modern war" in videogaming takes place in the Middle East. To me that setting is more annoying than World War 2 because it just screams at me "knee-jerk-reaction-to-Americans-wanting-to-kill-Muslims-after-9/11" and because of the sheer volume of games using that setting probably outnumber WW2 games (especially in levels of crapness.)

There are plenty other areas you can get for "modern warfare" than some anonymous Middle Eastern country. How about Chechnya/Dagestan, Columbia, China, DPRK, Serbia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or any old war-torn s**thole in Africa? I mean if you're going to create a fictional war, let the writer's imagination go wild. That's why I respect the new Tom Clancy games: Mexico and Las Vegas make a welcome change to both WW2 and a generic Middle Eastern setting.

The first time I saw it, my browser only downloaded half the picture and I was wondering WTF it was. Still, if you thought it was a Colossus, I'm guessing the guy's camouflage works.

Are you kidding? Crysis looks much better than that. It also looks more original.

Yeah that's a weird pic. I thought it was some kind of dinosaur or monster like you said.

That is the point of camouflage, you would want them to think you are a shrub than a guy.

NYC, Tokyo, Paris, SF, Los Angeles, Calcutta, Hong Kong, etc are much better IMO. I'm dead serious too...I'm tired of seeing war games in the same generic places. It's the future, make something up! Like, I don't know, England decided to carpet bomb downtown Manhattan, so now we are sending 10,000 American troops to march through London. For example.

those ideas about new places to fight in are actually really good and i can already imagine how fresh and exciting it would be. i agree, they should use other locales. you guys should send those ideas to the writers of these games.
