C&c 3 Demo

I have played it..... to my surprise there is nothing! New!!! at all! as far as I've found.

Looks like the only reason to buy it would be the really cool new movies and KANE IS ALIVE hehehe. But aside from that in terms of gameplay...... it is back to the basics.... it is almost like the first C&C in many ways..... :S

EA did it again milk milk milk milk.

The AI was somewhat competent, but yet I am disappointed in the right click and build interface which made the game feel more like Battle for Middle Earth 2 with guns rather than Command and Conquer.

This takes place in the Tiberian Saga universe or more specificity Tiberian Sun: Firestorm.
The Red Alert series is a alternative time line.

It wouldn't surprise me if it would sell a lot better than Supreme Commander simply because of the name.

That quote just means that it's the sequel to Tiberian Sun.

While it does have features that are distinctly Command and Conquer, the game plays a little more like Battle for Middle Earth which was a good game but no where as good as the older Pre-EA buyout C&C series (except for Red Alert 2).

I am not saying that it's not good, it's just different, you might like or dislike it depending on what RTS style you are used to, if you want to know how good it is compared to TS I recommend that you download the demo and try it for yourself.

Personally I think Supreme Commander is better but I have to agree with Cid that C&C will probably outsell it.

Agree, Supreme Commander far more better. C&C will outsell it becuse of it glamour among gamers. Graphics is awesome but the gameplay still the same...sad..sob..sob...

Personally I think that EA should have stuck to the old game play style, this is even further away from the original C&C than Generals ever was.

They spent most of the budget money hiring known actors and doing CGI for the cutscenes... its obvious

This is a C&C Generals mod, and we've seen that before, done with a bigger, WAY BIGGER, effort in BFME2, at least there was a huge leap between Generals and BFME1/2. There isn't one here.

Anyway here are some screenshots, everything maxed, x2 AA:

What do you mean? I only played the demo but it felt like playing C&C 1 all over again.

It's a mix of Battle for Middle Earth and Tiberium Sun, the build interface can be used like in either game, you train troops in squads like Battle for Middle Earth and the troops can be upgraded but the units have a similar balance system to C&C.

Hmm... I haven't played Battle for Middle Earth, but it sounds the same as the way that Warhammer RTS works. Is it?

It's the same as far as the infantry unit controls which works where you train and command them in squads go and using the right click to command and left click to select.
In classic C&C you train and command individual infantry without any additional interface buttons or features other than he left click button.

In Battle for Middle Earth you select builder units to build your structures and buildings to build units similar to Warhammer40K while in C&C you build all of them from the sidebar without needing to select them.

You can play the demos of both games to find out for yourself.

I think the lack of cells/squares for building arrangements and unit commands makes it feel less like a C&C game and more like a generic RTS.
