Angry Sega Shifting Away from PSP

Sony PSP ::: Advanced Media Network -

Quote:
Translated from a Japanese interview with Hideki Okamura, Sega managing director, Sega will be shiftin their focus from PSP to the Nintendo DS.

"We have to do a lot of thinking about titles for Nintendo's hardware, because Nintendo's own titles are extremely strong. It really is difficult to sell a title as a third party. What that means is that we've got to go after it with force: 'heave-ho!'".

Included in the interview is mention of a DS title coming out this year that will "surprise absolutely everyone". More details as they arrive.
My PSP started to be useless and I don't have DS

smart move i say. the DS has a much bigger userbase and i believe its focus was placed right for its category in the gaming world.

I agree. I have a DS and my little brother has a PSP. He's always wanting to play my DS, even though he's a huge Sony fanboy (yes, I'll call him a fanboy, because he knows he is). Now, since he went off to study at a university across the nation, I traded with him until he comes back for Christmas....worst mistake of my life .

Bone chilling Winnipeg and he's in Toronto in a dorm. He's pretty well off there though, my dads oldest brother (eldest in his family) is a millionaire so anything he needs, our uncle gets it for him . I remember taking family trips there all the time when we were kids, he'd give us a $100 bill to hug him and another $100 when we hug him good bye . 'Course my parents always took them from us and locked it up in our future bank accounts .

Ok, so it's technically not across the nation, but it's still pretty far .

Good news for the PSP. It'll get to miss out on mediocre games.

good to hear that. i really dont like the psp at all. i dont see why portable games should be as inflated and complicated as console games.
the few games that are worth it on the psp are games that id like to play on my ps2 on the tv.

Yeah but there's gonna be something that'll surprise everyone!

When was the last time Sega made a good game? And no that's not a rhetorical question, I'm trying to think and I can't remember anything since Sonic Adventure.

Don't forget the Sega Sports/Visual Concepts games (and even when the franchises were multi-platform until 2005, when Sega sold them).

Yeah, one of those "it's bound to happen". For every ****ty game they release, the closer we are to getting a good game... I think.

Man, those games were awesome. Nights was so...funky, it was awesome. And IMO, SoA set the bar for RPG's a little higher at the time.

Speculations are still speculations... and besides, it's true they haven't released anything worthwhile for a really long while now... they haven't made that many games on the PSP, also, so... duhhhh...
I'd still wait and see how GRAW2 and R6 Vegas on the PSP are going to do, though... :P

Oop, missed your post there heh .

But yeah, I've been there lots of times and I like it. The CN tower, Wonderland, the Zoo and man, the subway! My first subway experience was there and I was blown away (Hey, I was 8 years old...)!

I preffer smaller cities though, not like Winnipeg though. We're the GTA capital of Canada, in the top 3 for coldest winter in Canada, tied for second for highest property tax in Canada, one of the country's highest business taxes, worst ER rooms in the country, the worst roads in the country and I can name a few others, but then I'll be going too far . Not that I don't like it here, but I'd rather be somewhere like Calgary or Vancouver. I have lots of friends there and they just have so much more then Winnipeg, but isn't a huge city like Toronto .
