I like RPG/Adventure stile games, like the Zelda Series, but a think they lack some deep in the plot, but definitively, I prefer the kind of RPG a la Final Fantasy, they have something that makes you live the story...

First off a la is feminine and Final Fantasy is not. it would start with du but that would sound kinda funny but it would be grammatically correct in french. And as for the think that makes you feel like you are apart of the story..I totally agree. When ever I see the GCI in Final Fantasy it makes me feel sad like when Dagger's mom died..and how they had Vivi talking to himself. That was sad..I'm guessing its the music that sets up the mood. I wouldn't expect less from Square. ^-^

Yep....but i don't fell the same about the other square games...like Chrono Cross or PE2.....FF's are the best way that Square found to make this kind of (live) history......

I agree
Being so dynamic,FF series has distinguished itself from its peers
They managed to make the story line so interactive
that players can relate themselves to the game

well, I really like all FF series, among movies and games, the sequels of the games, doesn't have much interrelation with each other, so you basically are playing a completely different RPG!! I think thats why the game is so good, so it doesn't have the same repetitive patrons that the traditional sequel model.

Yep...FF's only haves some few connections with each other....like:
All of them haves a CID named guy, Chocobos and all of them are just after the last one:....like.....the history happens after another........(Non counting FF9....that the history is a "flashback" of FF5 time...IF the magical war wouldn't happent....)

"repetitive patrons that the traditional sequel model"

Yep....hehehe....but we can't say the same about Mario Games, Zelda or Sonic....We already know the bosses and the women that we have to save in the game.... (in Mario AND Zelda....we can't say that women part about Sonic, of course)........

first of all, why no one asked for a "none of the above" option?
I would use that.

Second, why did you call Mario64 an RPG??

on the other hand, what about Leisure Suit Larry? Or all those asian dating games?

"The Sims"?

perhaps more, you know.

If someone does not likes RPGs, I would assume they would not vote at all.

> Second, why did you call Mario64 an RPG??

Eh? I thought they said Mario Paper was an RPG, which it is. Mario 64 isn't.

> on the other hand, what about Leisure Suit Larry?
Um...it isn't.

> Or all those asian dating games?

They generally aren't, although I can think of some hybrids (like Thousand Arms, for example).

Came on, Guys!! I know that Diablo's battle system isn't very cool and have only fews cities, but don't you think that are very cool kill monters 'n demons, all time and see the bastards bleed after dead? I love any game with a good storyline or a game with much blood, like Diablo...

I liked Diablo and its sequel, but you have to admit it is pretty shallow for a "RPG." Besides, there are other games that do what Diablo does (mostly clones, but the fact remains there are).

Mario64 is a 3D platformer, Leisure Suit Larry...well...it's hard to describe, and dating simulation games are their own type of game, for the most part.
