After quiting with Wow. Dota is the only thing i play atm. The only thing that dissapoints me is the huge amount of noobs and leavers that just don't seem to die out.

Been playing Dota before Before Wow was released. Than i stopped for wow, and started again after stopping with wow. Dota learned me one thing and that's majority of the people that play it a noobs and have no common sense what so ever.

I play wc3, but i dislike dota (and where the heck is the similarity between dota an an mmorpg? that you can level up?). I find it boring, unbalanced and full of "noob" whiners who do not seem to realise that everyone can't play perfectly, and people do have lives and beeing yelled "noob" at can cause a great amount of leaving. Would you stay in a game if everyone yelled noob at you?

Also I like to play WC3 solo on europe.battle.net server and I have ~ 900 games on my acc

admit it yourself if you're a real noob ( peace please.... ).

btw my hints, read many character faqs in the net to master dota in few reads, try ai map to train with ( better train with human player ) , and show your training in bnet...

I don't mind people that are new to dota. But some people even stay stupid after tons of games. For example, you don't push to far if you see all/or some heros of enemy team are missing. Your guaranteed to be ganked.

Some people just lack that common sense and die all the time that way. Or they really have no clue and judgement of when to attack and when to retreat. Obviously you don't go and try gank lich with 2 heros since his nova will kill both of you if it's just the two of you. Or run true towers at lvl 6.. Yes you can run true them at higher lvl when chasing heros. But at start it's usually suicidal.

Or some people dance around the map with 400hp even when they know there is a Nerubian around...

And the list goes on. Though i never go and call people noob in game since there is just no point to it. Worst is that most noob call me noob for not doing what they want even when its suicidal...

But a bit more positive is that thanks to those i do manage to get a godlike on at least half of my games.

well as long as you don't yell noob...
you must understand that it's no fun to have to use all the different sort of strategies, know when to attack and such, instead of just playing freely. It's just not manageable for a lot of people (like me), to have to memorize all the strategies for each circumstance and concentrate enough to actually execute them at the right times. It's silly and boring in my eyes. I like the map itself, but without creating a "newbies only" game it's impossible to play freely which murders the point for me.

the word "noob" has also lost its meaning. noob is a rude form of "newbie" which refers to a new player. If you're unable to learn or develope your abilities for a game you're "inept" not "noob" at it (look at the link for the definition of inept). I'm an expert at developing strategies, but inept at sticking to them and concentrating enough to execute them correctly.
inept - Definitions from Dictionary.com

(ps. i think i'd still enjoy dota even though i always wind up the crappiest player, if it had only been possible to play more freely)

you're exagerating much
u must remember lot of strategies when u're playing WC3 1 vs 1 on bnet when u got race, must build buildings and have many units - That is the Strategy. World's best strategy, imo
I think people who played much in WC3 before dotA, would learn fast

wc3 might have been a lot about strategy. But that's lost its sense, there's noone actually strategising anymore, just robotically followind pre-made strategies.

It's not that much that strategies brings victory in War3. It's the micromanagement skill of the player, though of course strategies is also important.. I had a Deathwing in the RoC days with 72% win ration. Basically i done more than 2k games >.< And in the end. I got so fed up of the normal War3. And still am. Really it does get boring saving your peon/peasant line from being harassed all the time. Not to mention the road to the 1500 win was more of a chore in the end than actual fun. Yea i should of just stopped...

But meh back to dota. It doesn't involve a lot of strategy. It's just know when to gank and see your opportunities. Not like standing there wacking a creep and taking dmg so your free kill for a hero later on. It's all about staying alive and getting gold to buy good items. Your dead ads to the enemy items and lvl. So it's never good to die!!! Dota is a team game. If one feeds the enemy than the enemy gets faster lvl and items. If people can at least remember that...

Something tells me majority of the dota players don't even know hero only take 75% of spell dmg or do they ever calculate how much dmg they can do when using all skills and knowing if its a kill or not when using ulti.

yeah, this is a game with some standarts
but nevertheless new strategies are being made
watch Moon, Grubby, Sky, Tod, Lucifer replays of 2006 and 2007

Back to DotA: I have ~50 people in my LAN skilled in DotA, we're playing it almost 1.5 year, and seems quality and fun of games are high now

I've heard so much about dota but never really got around to try it out. Wish you could play it with bots :/ Don't care for being called names online

How long do the match usually last?

You can!!! Get dota AI version. You can sort of train against bot that way. Tho don't expect to much from the AI. They make there lack of AI up by gaining more exp and gold :P
Official DotA Allstars Downloads
Latest version is AI Update for 6.38b. You need to register to dl it though.. But i'm sure some googling can help ya find it without registration to some forum.

And for favorite hero's don't actually have one.

Tho i usually like permabash hero or high dps once. For mode. Usually play ap, even though i always random my hero.
