Well by 'equipping' them (like you did in the screenshot)

At first you need the item equipped that allows you to learn the skill by gaining AP. But when you've mastered the skill you don't need to have the item equipped anymore to use the skill. You do still need to make it active by adding these magic stones or whatever in the screen of your shot. Hope that explains the system a bit.

Enjoy the game

Yes, there are glitches with it running in 1.6.0. It's a good idea to switch to 1.5.2.

Yeah, If you have a Protect girls enabled you will take damage instead of a girls,
and with Flee-Gil you will get money even if you flee from the battle.

Yeah, i'll make a short "for-dummies" explanation:

1. you have two types of abilities, red and blue. Both are governed by two seperate manas.
2. Red abilities you only need to learn, then you can use them forever more. These spend a little mana as you use them.
3. Blue abilities first need to be learned by equipping the correct item (many items may have the same abilities). Now you need to "equip" them. When they are equipped they constantly do their work. For an example "protect girls" means Zidane will radomly jump infront of female characters and take physical damage in their place. "Jelly" means your character cannot be petrified, or partly petrified (this is the worst condition your character can enter)
4. You already know how to equip i can see. These abilities drain from a passive mana pool that you can't directly affect. They only drain when you equip them, and give the mana back when you unequip them, the mana drained is shown next to the ability.

and both those abilities are pretty useless, i learned em just to learn them, but you will soon move on to bigger and better abilities.

good luck with the game, it's a classic.

hey katsuya, this thread was actually in the right section (game discussion) because his original question was about the abilities in game, with a bit of ePSXe flava on the side. ah well, it's no big deal.

His main concern seemed to be emulator bugs, so I thought that this would be the best place for help. However, since it looks like the Emu questions are over. The conversation will be based on game play. If you get a chance move it back to GD
