i decided yesterday to open a box with many of my old games cause i was bored with the new ones and i came across one of my all time fav. games called Commandos:Behind enemy lines, now the problem that i face just like many other guys with old games and new computers is that its running at at least 3 times its normal speed.

i would like to find a way to slow it down, any help??

Processor:amd athlon 64 x2 dual-core 3800+
memory:1gb ddr
hard drive: 250gb 7500rpms
graphic card:nvidia geforce 6200

hope that is enough info to help you guys to figure something out, thanks for all the help and please dont flame.

It's probably because you have a dual core processor (the same as mines). Some old games have issues with them.

Make a backup of the main game exe (just incase) and download this file. Then open a Command Prompt, and change to the folder where you unzipped imagecfg.exe and and enter this into the command prompt "imagecfg -a 0x1 c:\path and file of the game exe" and it should produce the following:

c:\gamefolder\gamename.exe contains no configuration information
c:\gamefolder\gamename.exe contains a Subsystem Version of 4.0
c:\gamefolder\gamename.exe updated with the following configuration information:
Process Affinity Mask: 00000001

That will lock it to one of the processors on your PC and it should work fine.

If that doesn't work try enabling Vertical Synch. That happens alot on my laptop. Outrun 2006 ran so fast that on online games i would beat the "stage swich" and enter the matrix xD

There might be the option for "V-Sync" in the Video settings.

EDIT: A quick check on one of my games reveals that V-Sync won't help if it's an issue because you have a dual core processor.
