which is better realy (unbiased opions please)

i realy want to know or see atrical saying wether ps3 hardware is better than the xbox 360? im loooking for honest opiions on the current specs not fanboys etc

i know there is a playstation 3 thread but i didnt think it would go...

technically speaking yes, you have to remember the 360's hardware is older now so you can expect the PS3 to be using newer technology.

However! the 360 has "shared memory" which cuts down a hell of a lot on data transfer penalties, so processed data is stored there it can be accessed directly, where as the ps3 will have to process the data, put it in memory then some how transfer it to the video memory then output it, which ill make a large cost in performance.

Its difficult at this point to say which machine will be better, technically speaking they both have their advantages and weaknesses

see for me ive always thought the cell was the be all and end all but i want to know is it realy that great or just sony hyped up look at ps2 when it come out toy story like graphics!

altho i dont know a great deal about the Cell, so i cant really comment on it

Isn't the 360 meant to have the more capable GPU, whereas Cell is supposedly an incredible CPU?

I spose they both weight out evenly in some fields, although the PS3 is definitely not as 'more powerful' than the 360 then alot of people make out to be.

well that relates to the Shared memory thing, the video memory is shared with normal system memory, so it has quicker access. But the 360's gpu is a modified Radeon x1800, where the ps3 will be either a Geforce 7800 or 7900 (not sure what theyve chosen yet) so they are both pretty neck and neck there, of course if its the 7900 it'll be more powerful

And of course PC beats all. But in my honest opinion its really gonna come down to which developers take advantage of which pieces of hardware. For example you might see better A.I./Physics on the PS3 due to a better CPU or more detailed graphics on the 360 due to shared video memory. But from what I've seen of the 360 its no better than PC graphics and really dosen't show off its glory unless on a true HD T.V. which mean 1080p.
