Anyone got some cash to burn?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=280024499021

quite an amazing ebay auction, that.... an X68000 with a huge set of games ..talk about rare.

Shipping costs of that would naturally be high... no bidders yet, though. Surely, I hope for that guy he'll get some high bidders, or he'd be sorry he sold it, I reckon.

He should've never put the starting price so low unless he desperately needs to get rid of it. Even a store would give you more than that, and chances are pretty high someone might snatch it away.

That has to be worth at least $500, if not $1000 .

I agree, unless its a scam and all those boxes are empty I've seen much more stupid things sell for more, that is worth alot more. Hum, you know what, maybe i'll bid. I wonder if they ship anywhere.

*edit* Yep they do.

not really, ref. think of how much that crap weighs---and keep in mind it's coming from Tokyo. Tokyo to the US (doesnt say where in the US there) is always a hefty cost anyway, but with such weight it will be an assload.

but let's say that the shipping is a ripoff. i would honestly guess that'd be 50 to 100 to ship, at least (and that's a low estimate). $150 for all those games and crap? i dont think he's "making his money" off the shipping.

in fact, with the bid only up to $60 right now, i'm guessing he was relying on a lot of publicity to get people to view that and push the price up. we'll see where it ends up...

In the end, it went for $1500. Probably still a good deal for the buyer, and the seller shouldn't have to cry now....

Quite impressive. I wonder if my PSX collection would go for a similar price.

I'd think less... it's not quite as rare....maybe if you try to sell everything separately

From my own collection, when looking at individual titles I think this
and this are some of the most valuable ones. Both of them being complete, of course....

Keep in mind I have a fully functional first-generation PSX as well. Including the original box that's in my garage (possibly with manuals as well, not sure.)

Not like I'm trying to sell it or anything... at the moment.

The trouble with my PSX collection is that a lot of the games are very rare (as in: without "PlayStation" written at the bottom, 1996/7 editions) but no-one wants them. Games like Earthworm Jim 2, Spider, D, Spot Goes To Hollywood, Gex, Disruptor... and so on.

Then again, the PSX isn't as old as most consoles/computers considered "rare." Plus, the proliferation of the PSX is that high that the console itself will never, EVER, be considered rare. But as you said, if I were to sell the gems of my collection (Broken Sword 1&2, Discworld 1 &2, Lunar 1 & 2 Complete, V. Profile, etc) then I'm sure I could make a good amount of money. Probably just enough to buy Suidoken and Vandal Hearts.

True. Being a rare game is one thing, being a wanted game is another. A lot of my games fall into that category. P.N.03 for example.

I'd consider my Atari ST collection to be quite rare, but seeing how I was a kid when I played it I never did take care of the boxes/manuals.

i've thought about how much my small collection would be worth (of anything--CDs, DVDs, rare LPs, etc) down the line, but whenever i think of it, i really don't care.

i'm never going to sell anything so why does it matter? that's why i open everything i buy, i play with it, i use it. i could never part with my precious stuff...too much sentimental value
