I was searching on you tube when I got strange stuff.

It's FF8 story. Someone (I think is called SinisterChic) is playing the whole game while recording it :S

I don't think he finished it all yet but there are now as many as 20 parts there from the game. Anyone who hates RPGs and want just to see the story can check the parts posted at you tube.

I don't know if he will continue that or not. And I don't know if there are other games with similar treatment.

Side note : I noticed he sometimes cuts some uneeded part (like when there's a long corridor with no events and so on, but he never cuts story at all)

you can download from youtube. i already got 2 sitting in my HD.

if you use firefox, get the videodownloader extension.
in youtube/google...(any website streaming videos OR even flash animations), click on the videodownloader button, you obtain a link.

from there either:

1 - right-click on it, rename file, add .FLV extension, download and use FLV player or Riva FLV player to play

2 - or just enter link in a download manager. voila.

hehe weird, each part should have been 23 minutes. 1.30 minutes with an intro song at the beginning, then 1.30 outro song with credits... yay one person credits

I had a friend who was doing something similar. They were taping the storyline on FF7. I guess they wanted all the story parts so the next time they could just watch the video tapes instead of spending 30 or so hours leving up.

Clips seem pretty good. The author of these clips has a long ways to go. 20 clips added already is barely on the first disc. The last clip was added on August 21, 2006 so its a good indicator that there will be future release soon.

Actually I think it's for story purpose more than walkthrough purpose as stated by the guy who made it and to the fact that unnecessary battles aren't included.

So yes it's the best way to get FF8 story without playing

its good but boring at alot of parts. it dosent really keep me entertained for too long. good for an video ipod or cellphone as daily watches on your way to work or whatnot. and did i mention the sound is horrible. no idea how he recorded it but its very bad at some points.
