Counter strike source is nothing but hacker frenzy

So I was playing CSS for awhile now. My kdr were always 1.0. But when I check top10 I always find guys with 3.0 and stuff.

I thought those guys had skills. Well turn out they got skills alright, hacking ****s. Those cheaters do nothing but esp/wallhack. All this time I thought I was losing because of my skills sucked; turn out to be nothing more than hackers ruining the game for me.

How did I know this? Well I decided that it took a hacker to find a hacker. Needless to say I'm not playing CSS again until stupidass Steam clean up that hacker hellhole.

You do know there is a filter for VAC only games right? besides you could use your ears to find people behind walls.

Hmm.. hacking hasn't been a problem for me since sometime in 1.6 but even then it wasn't that bad. Remember 1.5? Now that was a hackers paradise. These days in CS it's just a matter of finding a server with truely legit players. But I stay away from CS mainly because most of the people that play it are elitists and asshats.

But when it comes to HL, I find most of my most enjoyable multiplayer experiences in third party mods like The Specialists, Hostile Intent, etc.
But that's just me.

Man have you played css? Every server has vac. Hell it's vac2 now.

But like I said, stupidass steam can't detect client side hacks. All one needs to do is download a process changer and vac can't tell jack. Trust me if you find a game with good players chances are they're hacking.

I thought CS was good, especially CS Source. Granted, i haven't played over the net (thus, not encountering those 'asshats' who ruin the experience), so I haven't 'truely' played the game....but, apparently, i'm not missing much...

Seeing through walls hack is very difficult to detect . As someone said its client state hack. When the engine is rendering/vizualising the objects it doesnt know only what you see,so the game has every information about near players and so on.So it draws everythingthat is in front of you,and because of the Z-buffer ,what is nearer to you stays in the image. The hack just tells opengl/direct3d's part of the engine to render the nearest objects transperant or the players to be treatened as 'nearest' ,meaning they will be vizualized each time.

Join a server with Cheating Death. Its a client side cheating prevention tool. You can't join a server unless you have it running.

Well, i've been playing CS: Source alot. Yes there are alot of hackers but this doesnt stop me from playing alot and enjoying the game. You just need to know how to avoid them.

FYI, having a kdr of 3.0 on a public server is far from meaning your a hacker. Some poeple don't have lives and play all day.

Seriously, if you want to avoid hackers, the best thing to do is find a good server. I've been playing on the same server ever since i started. You need to look for a server that has at least one admin logged on all the time and that is friendly with the players. I practically know everyone that plays on that server and it's easy to spot hackers that way. If there's is a new guy that's playing weird, then follow him around once you die. Wallhackers are easy to spot. Report it to the admin, he'll see for himself and ban him if necessary.

It's all about where you play.

I play CS Source alot and sometimes you see people who probably use wallhack, I don't care about it anymore I still get pretty good scores. It was much worse on 1.5 - 1.6 though

That happens when the server dont have active admins.
I play almost everyday, and theres always stupid cheaters getting banned.
The server is 99% clean of hackers.

I think Garry's Mod has a real problem with griefers. A lot of servers are dedicated and as such don't have an admin on a lot of the time.

Standard Newb Scenario:

*here I am making some awesome gizmo*
MingeBag: wat u makin???
Me: Nothing. Just don't touch it.
MingeBag: *looks around and jumps on top of it*
Me: Seriously, get off!
... *KABOOOM*.

The idiot has blown up and destroyed whatever I was working on. I have yet to complete something made of wood on a public server because wood is so easy to destroy. I make everything out of blastdoors now

Its also a problem when griefers go around deleting other peoples stuff. Once I made a blimp and was flying around the top of the map. So a MingeBag thought it would be funny to delete the connections between the basket and the balloon -_-.

Also I've had some people not grief me out of idiocy, but intentionally. Some people have picked up whatever I was making and then run around the map. On a server with no admin or an admin that doesn't know how to kick people the game is now over, I'll never get to make anything.

As revenge for pissing me off I put a tonne of invisible dynamite near the spawn point and explode it continuously so no one can spawn. Then I'll leave and try to find another server .

Amen, sir. When I go to my internet cafe to play wow there are always CS nerds (the ones that f'ing smell and bring their own mice, mousepads, keyboards and headphones because the ones there might not be leet enough zomg). They carry on and are soo loud. It really pisses me off and some laugh and cheer so loud it hurts my ears. I went to complain to the cafe owner but he said they had no policy against so much noise.

I know there are a share of decent people that play CS. But the majority are, as Sklasko said, asshats and elitists.

Bandwagon, eh? Let me tell you, CS isn't a bad game. Yes I am aware that people have opinions but 99% of the time when people talk about CS being a bad game, guess what, they probably haven't played it. That or they just had a bad experience with the people that play it.

If you actually take the time and play a round of CS with some players that you know well (preferably a LAN game). You might see how well balanced and addicting the game can be.

Yes. I have played CS a few times. Yes, I KNOW how to play it. Yes, I played it at LAN house with DECENT people (no 1337 kK1LL20R2). YES, I played at different maps, and YES, it sucks very badly. I would rather play another game, which is much less a loss of time . A game with no need to repeat the same moves, use the same grenades on and on, no jumping from a 50 feet building making head shots - -, and mainly, A GAME WITH STRATEGY INVOLVED, no some aiming and shooting and saying "That's knowledge!" or "!!!1!1!11!LOL!!!1!OMFG!1!!!oneeleven!SN1P0R!111!! !11hundredeleven!!!fockzorzROFLMAO!!!1!1!!!1!1!!!1 !" (you may say this one is about bad players, but it isn't, it's the game's spirit).

I'm not very fond of Battlefield, but I think it is much better IMO.

Edit: forgot to mention the swimming with rifle. OMG. What's that? Undersea hunting?

If you only play on pub servers, than sure there is no strategy because everyone thinks for themselves and thats normal. Play more, join a clan and play on private servers, thats where the real fun is. You NEED strategy if you want to win.
