What game does most dissapointed you for your entire life?

I mean you wait for your whole life and hoping that the game might be release will be good as you expected but after released, it's far from your expected. Many bugs, lame gameplay, maybe lame story and etc. Which is........

Feel free to post the reason why you hate it so much.

As for me the most dissapointed game I have wait for my entire life is Bloody Roar 4

Any EA game I waited a long time for
And Halo 2, well, in single player anyway. (And now they got me hyped for me to finally finish the god damn fight in Halo 3. )

FarCry. Where's the good graphics and innovative gameplay and AI everyone brags about? I certainly never saw any of it, and I played right through the whole game. And the story sucked ass

I am tempted to nominate all the first gen PS2 games

On a more serious note I think it was a game called Yoshi on NES, I was hoping for it to be something like a Mario game with Yoshi in it (SMWorld) but it turned out to be a puzzle game. Still it's a nice game.

I was also kinda disappointed in Mission Impossible for NES, the game was too damn hard, even with Game Genie. And it being French didn't help either, I still don't understand a freaking thing about it.

I was kinda disappointed with Might and Magic VII, I bought it hoping it would be a great roleplaying game, but it was way too hard for my liking.

1. Driv3r (PS2)- Looked good, played bad!
2. Terminator 3 ROTM - This game has one of the worst controls ever.
3. Driv3r (GBA)- Even more crappy than the Ps2 version, only this time with bendy walls and even more surreal collisions...
4. FFX-2- wasnt what i wanted from a Final fantasy.

Well I don't wait "my whole life" for a game.. I'm too freaking old for that now and I never was like that but back in the NES days there was a game called Street Fighter 2040 (I can't remember the number). Anyway, I thought it was a Street Fighter game (which it was since the main character is Ken Masters) but I thought the game was the side scroller fighting game which it wasn't.

I think there's a ton of games that fit into this disappointment category which it may also fall under the overrated category. I've played so many freaking over rated games that disappointed me in the end that I don't even know where to start.

*tries to remember*

The Getaway was hyped from day one (it was shown as an initial demo of the PS2's power) to the moon and back. Then after numerous delays, etc, what was published was just an average GTA3 clone. The fact it was in development before the PS2 was released and went on sale when Vice City was released just says it all.

Resident Evil 2 and 3 on the Gamecube. I was expecting remakes on-par with Resident Evil 1. I was expecting Capcom NOT to treat customers like arseholes and expect us to pay full price for games that have been out for years and ported to the PC, DC and N64 already. I was expecting the same energy spent making the Resident Evil remake into one of the greatest games ever made to be spent on giving RE2 and 3 the next-gen facelift they deserved. Instead, there were two games released that looked like they were the original releases running on ePSXe. I never bought them, but it shows the contempt Capcom has for their customers.

Hybrid Heaven. LOL. This game made me realise just how stupid Nintendo fanboys were/are. Them and their official magazine kept hyping this as "better than MGS!" and "made by the same guys who made MGS!" (well, it was Konami) and in high school Nintendo fanboys would swarm me to sing it's praises. And then it was released... and the rest is history.

Final Fantasy IX. After playing 7 and 8, I waited eagerly for this game. Then after buying it I waited eagerly for battles to pass and for random encounters to go away. I ain't playin': the battles run at the same speed as an asthmatic turtle with heavy shopping, and the SHEER NUMBER of random encounters just seems like the game is trying to break your spirit. Plus, neither the characters nor the world give you any reason to care for them/it like 7 and 8 did. By far the worst of the main FF series. I'd direct you to Something Awful's very accurate review of it, but I think they frown apon that here.

*will post more as I remember*

A Driver game and a movie game... man, your expectations are too high.

For me, it would be the later Tenchu sequels. Having played Tenchu 2: The Birth of Stealth Assassin and still think it is a masterpiece on the PSX, and I waited a few years for Tenchu 3 but the later Tenchu sequels are truely dissapointing. Yes, they have all fancy PS2 graphics but the story and plots are just too crappy for me to be hooked.

Microprose's Grand Prix 3 was the first that came to mind.
I loved Grand Prix 2, played it for years. GP3 was such a dissapointment after the long wait. They partly corrected that with GP3 2000 and GP4, but by that time the legendary game series from Geoff Crammond had lost its magic.

Shadow the Hedgehog. Ok, not every Sonic game was top notch, but that one was of such low quality that it's the first "Sonic Adventure-like" game that I didn't get. I guess the fact I played the PS2 port made it worse.
It also made me quite uninterested in Sonic Riders, because of the sub-par reviews that got. Fortunately, thanks to Sonic Rush (DS), I'm still a fan.

F**king Star Ocean 2. That game is IMPOSSIBLE to beat the last boss on. My guys were on very high levels, but you can go up to level 200 on this game, and I was like 114. I rocked all the enemies up to the final boss, and he just threw me around like a rag doll atleast 10+ times. I never beat that game, and it's sad because I really liked the story line.

Propeller Arena- Because I wanted this game so gosh darn bad i could tasted it... then... bam... before it was ready to be released... it was canceled... sometimes I still cry myself to sleep...

Crash Bandicoot- after all the friggin hype on this game and its "Lush 3D environments" and a "Super Mario 64 killer"... it turned out to be a turd... the side scrolling levels were cool, but that was about it...

Halo 1&2- not really my type of FPS... perfect dark is still queen... and how the hell to you fully customize your controller? all i saw for us leftys is a southpaw option that just switches the trigger buttons! wtf? so i had to bend my finger like a claw to try and jump and stuff...

Don't know about "waited my whole life for" but I was quite disapointed by Super Mario Sunshine. My expectations were very high, I was expecting Super Mario 64 with better graphics, but the game just wasn't very good.

Same goes for Sonic Heroes. Coming after Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 I really expected this game to be good. It was a huge disapointment.

Black and White 2. Don't know why it just didn't do anything for me, maybe I just expected too much from this as well.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 - Both these games were so awful I could cry. When I realised that this is what Final Fantasy had became I actually gave my PS2 away.

Escape from Monkey Island (Monkey Island 4) - Not as good as the previous MI games and not even worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as The Curse of Monkey Island (Monkey Island 3)

FF mystic quest (just like EVERYTHING with the word "mystic" on its title) is the worst game I have ever played, and I agree with what you guys said about Chrono Cross. I swear I tried to play it, but it sucks badly. Chrono Trigger is much better IMO.
