Sega will release Sonic 2 on cell phones

The first Sonic for cell phones was a success in Japan and Europe The new game will introduce Tails to the ever-expanding Sonic stable
The game does not yet have any release plans for America, but in Japan, the game is featured as an exclusive pre-install on Panasonic's gorgeous P902iS handset. The release date is unknown at the moment.
Sonic 2 will be the same as the Genesis/Megadrive version, but with some slight edits for the smallest screen.
Check the screens of the Sonic's next cell phone adventure (In Japan, at least. I hope to see the game in Europe).

I hate to be pessimistic, but I thought it was difficult to play on the Nomad with it's small screen, I can't imagine it being bigger on a cell phone...

It's nice to see great games made available for the cellphone but like Paratech said, I think there must be major control issues. Besides, I don't see why people play games on their cell phones anyway...

You can't play on handhelds? Play on GameGear or DS is not difficult. I never played with a Nomad, but the size is similar to the GameGear..

Actually I play games on my cellphone, I don't have a gba or a psp so I use my cell to play games on the go.
There are some good games for cell phones out there, I played the prince of persia games which were good games IMHO.
Also Alpha Wing 2, Asphalt Urban GT and others.

Whilst Sonic 2 remains a class game and one I still play on the MD, I hate to say it but you won't find me jumping for joy over this Who the hell plays games on a mobile phone, tetris, snake where fine when your a teeny bopper at school, but yeesh no thanks

Sonic 2 was a great game on MegaDrive...I spent alot of time playing the Sonic series...but, I just can't accept cell phones as a gaming platform...I just can't take them seriously. It will be Sonic 2, but on a phone, but I think that is ruining a great experience.

I am very sceptical about Sonic on cell phones.People nowadays play more action games,with violence,etc. Most people that still play platformers/jump&run are from the old generation(gamers,not people ) like myself that cant forget the 16bit games. For me it's strange that 2d Mario for the GBA & DS is making huge sales even today.Maybe Nintendo has some kind of aura or something

What I can see is that EVERYTHING can play games. In other hand, once videogames were MADE to run GAMES, now they have HDD and webcam :|
Actually I don't think this release to a cellphone will break with Sonic's enchantment - but I care with whole thing, know? Like, cellphones playing Mega Drive games. Where will videogames be? While cellphones were playing "Snake" I was happy. Now they're playing Sonic 2. :|

Yup, it's hard to understand my conclusion =P but I am really archaic with those kind of things.

I like my cell to have some quick games for on the go, like BustaMove (puzzle bobble) or Bomberman, those are the games that work best.
