Creating game models?
I apologize for being stubborn. But does anyone know how to edit models from a game? Because I wan't to improve the character models for the Resident Evil games for the pc.

Why are you making multiple threads about this? As for modeling, it's not as simple as "Okay I want a nice high-poly model.. *10 minutes later* Ok, RE Model set complete" Modelling is not exactly easy nor would someone be willing to devote time to make RE models from scratch JUST for you. |

You see,In order to do what you propose, first you must be able to make a 3d model in a software like 3ds max, maya, blender, milkshape or other. You see,3d models are stored in different formats(like you have for images .bmp,.jpg,.gif).Some games use formats that are world-wide known, and there are free converters to them.In that case, you are lucky. But many games either use their custom format,or have protected the models by storing all of them instead of having separated files for every model. In those cases, you have our favourite www.google.com where you search for 'mods'(comes from modifications) for that game of a tutorial for making them. That in case someone tried and found a way to do so. particulary for resident evil 1,if you want just better graphics,it'll be easier for you to try RE1 remake for Gamecube.

I would require a lot of reverse engineering to do something like that... As far as I know, the only person who has taken the trouble to do something like that for any console games is this guy. Placing the models in another game would be even harder, since you would have to full understand the formats used in both games, and write a coverter. If you are really serious about doing this, I suggest you start here.

I have some friends back at the HIT forum, great modelers (alot of good modelers in the Half-Life community), don't know if they would be willing to tackle it. But I could certainly check. Edit: Oh, JkKdArK, I just noticed that his other thread was about skins, not models. My mistake.
