As far as i know, the XIII series should be a trilogy. But not just an ordinary trilogy. Events of every game will happen in parrallel(sp?) world. The second title is "Final Fantasy Versus XIII" and i forgot the name of the third :/ |

I'd like to comment that I really enjoy this new FF's artistic direction. It's remenisent of FFVII and FFVIII...dark, gritty, and realistic look. I just didn't like FFIX's "cute" or FFX's "fruity" look. I'll have to see about FFXII's style, but giant lizard and bunny humanoid just doesn't appeal to me. Look like this FF is going back to it's FFVII root. Here's the 1280x720 res trailer. http://rapidshare.de/files/20232564/FF.XV.zip.html |

are u sure about that i dont remeber THAT much "gun" - action in FF VII and i*m playin it again atm so? BTW: the "action" does not create a great game. FF VIII had great battle scenes ( garden war) still IMO the characters , their credibility and how they "work" together. But then also a great Fight/ability System with a good mix of Arcade Games / Sidequests bound all togehter by an slowly develeopping Story. Thats a good FF for me ! wbr Shin Gouki |

http://media.ps3.ign.com/media/826/826846/imgs_1.html Final Fantasy Versus XIII screenshots. Also... "Square Enix took everyone by surprise today at its pre E3 press conference with the announcement of not one, but three Final Fantasy XIII games. As part of the new Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation series, Square Enix will release three separate games set in the FFXIII universe, two for the PlayStation 3 and one for mobile systems. While attendees of the press conference were given an early look at the games, story details were not revealed. However, Square Enix did brief the Japanese press on the staff members who are working away on this newest endeavor. Here's what the list of talent looks like. Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) Yoshinori Kitase (Producer) Motomu Toriyama (Director) Tetsuya Nomura (Character Design) Nobuo Uematsu (Theme Song Composition) Masashi Hamazu (Composer) Eiji Fujii (Movie Director) Isamu Kamikokuryou (Art Director) Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3) Tetsuya Nomura (Director, Character Design) Takeshi Nozue (Movie Director) Yoko Shimomura (Composer) Shinji Hashimoto (Producer) Final Fantasy Agito XIII (Mobile) Hajime Tabata (Director) Tetsuya Nomura (Character Design) Yusuke Naora (Art Director) Takeharu Ishimoto (Composer) Yukimasa Itou (Producer)" http://ps3.ign.com/articles/706/706153p1.html And here... http://ps3.ign.com/articles/705/705990p1.html |

So that leaves the concept of a FFVII PS3 remake out of the picture for now, ne? But WTF, FFXIII looks so damn cool, can't wait for it!!!

Nobuo once again contributes to only one theme song in the game. Will we ever hear another version of that classic Final Fantasy battle music again...?

Well I'm glad about that, if the game is going to be what the trailer looks like it's gonna be some sort of revolution within the series, because it looks nothing like any earlier part.

It's looking promising thats for sure, after the online attempt with FFXI and the MMORPG style FFXII, there's certainly alot of experimentation going on. It seems this game has dark brooding elements as found in FFVII, which is something I always enjoyed in that game. Alos the gunblade and FF8 style 'modernism' was present during that battle sequence, perhaps they are taking alot of classic elements from the older FF's, so I expect to see atleast one moogle, but frankly I would love to see 'evil' moogles and chocobo's rather than just the cutsey ones we've all seen. If this FF has the plot, and the depth of gameplay...ouch

Your link is dud, is the trailer you reference longer than: Final Fantasy 13 High Definition trailer ? From reading various news sites and taking alook at a selection of shots, the battle, forest, all in train scenes have been 'proven' ingame by the various pixel jockies out there, hell there are even arguements that the vast majority of it is realtime.

indeed, to clarify, the CG is generated realtime by the ingame 3d engine. they completely wrote the engine from scratch, its called the "White Engine" or something, which is designed to flow seamlessly and create videos, ingame graphics and everything all seamlessly, instead of switching to videos ;p plus it shows the power of the console off

it makes sense that they anouce 3 FF 13's the amount to develop a PS3 RPG (cinematic) engine must be incredibly high. To reuse the game engine its an good idea to make use of it in other "episodes" by adding a new story (and may be "some" new game deatils) If the story is good and demaning i dont mind ![]() wbr Shin Gouki Last edited by Shin_Gouki; May 16th, 2006 at 12:15.. |
