Golden Axe coming to PS3 and Xbox 360

Today, Sega announced the long-anticipated return of Golden Axe, coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Golden Axe delivers action-RPG thrills as a small band of Riders embark on an epic adventure to recruit allies, expose the enemy and prevent the annihilation of their breed.
Delivering an intense and unique combat experience, players charge into battle on the backs of ferocious beasts or take their chances with the enemy while on foot. Fighting skill, wits and even magic are all called into action as players immerse themselves in the struggle to defeat an evil intent on enslaving the remains of civilization.

I can't wait to see some shots; this was one of the best series on Genesis. They tried to remake Golden Axe into 3D on PS2, but the result was less than satisfactory. Hope they do it right this time.

We all remember/know what happened with the new Final Fight, ya? We can probably expect that quality. Devs just can't figure out how to limit the amount of 3D that goes into games. I have heard they're keeping it more side-scrolly than one would expect.

Screw that, I'm still in therapy over Fighting Force. Trying to do 2D scrolling beat em ups properly in 3D is a challenge I don't think anyone has done right yet. Why do you think I'm thankful Sega's not tried it with Streets of Rage yet.

I hope Sega doesnt screw this one out.

Golden Axe was one of the best arcade games ever. I spent hours and hours and hours playing it with my brother.

I think theres a CG trailer out already but i can't find it
