Star Ocean 2 causing me blindness ; help please
Ive read threads, changed and toggled my things as much as possible, and i have yielded no results that helped stop the flickering black screen while playing Star Ocean 2. It is severe. I cant play for more than 2 hours without feeling raging pain in my right eye. Please help. I dont really care what i need to search for, but ive tried every version of openGL by pete. Anyone whos willing to post their specs would be appreciated. Please help so i dont have to wear a pirate eye thing to play it...

I forgot to include, im using adripsx as it is, but i will go to any extent to fix it, i'll download anything i need to get it done. hell i dont really even care about PS after this one game. Sorry for taking the time of anyone who cares, but i really hate having to wear an eyepatch to play the game (and of course, switching it every 10 minutes so both eyes dont feel the pain constantly and i can keep on going.

Damn, that's what i'd call needing to play desperately. Have you tried epsxe? The game works with it. Post your specs and somene will tell you a plugin config.

I posted this in that other SO2 thread a couple days (weeks?) back. Plugin: Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.1.75 GFX card: MSI MS-StarForce GeForce FX 5700 (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700) Resolution/Color: - 640x480 Window mode Textures: - R8G8A8A8 - Filtering: 0 - Hi-Res textures: 0 - VRam size: 0 MBytes Compatibility: - Offscreen drawing: 3 - Framebuffer texture: 2 - Framebuffer access: 0 - Alpha multipass: on - Mask bit: off - Advanced blending: hardware Misc: - Scanlines: off [0] - Unfiltered FB: on - Dithering: on - Screen smoothing: off - Full vram: off - Game fixes: off [00000000] Probably not as pretty as most people demand, but it doesn't flicker and it works. |

Back on topic... I have always had terrible experiences with AdriPSX. The graphics are usually a little screwy. I am currently playing the game with EPSXE 1.60 and all is well. If you have problems with the voices in the intro, then apply the settings found in this thread and you should be fine. Star Ocean sound |

I know its not right to keep playing a game giving me severe eye damage, but Star Ocean 1 (Super nintendo emulator) left me speechless. My espxe, i tried that too (trust me, ive tried everything) but for some reason it wont get past a black screen in the begining. I'll look that up in the forum for that emulator, but please still assist. this eye damage isnt good for my schooling. ><
