It seems that Ruby appeared after I visited the guy who wants Guide Book, Desert Rose and Earth Harp in Kalm.

That would be it, otherwise the player would have no incentive to kill Ruby/Emerald.

Save 07 - Just after Nibleheim.

Cloud:
Butterfly Edge | Silver Armlet
Level: 53 HP: 4697 MP: 505 STR: 80 Limit Level: 3
39h 47m Game time. 12,572 Gil.

Aside from the growing MASTER materia collection, I have bought Villa Cloud for 300,000 Gil without selling anything. All 'Turtles Paradise' flyers found sofar (the last one needed is in Wutai). Also have Vincent in my team now.

Got 'Mythril' from the sleeping man, but can't buy Aeris's 'Limit 4 Manual' just yet, afaik I have to wait till I get the Tiny Bronco.

On my 'near todo' list, are the remaining Disc 1 Enemy Skills (I plan to do the wutai quest on disc 2, whilst this may seem odd at first, it means I can get all 4 (yes there are only 4) enemy skill materia's mastered, I also plan to get Kujata long before they intend you to get it.

I also need to check that if getting the Omnislash on disc 1 will damage my chances of getting the 'reverse battle' in the battle arena (basically you fight the bosses instead of normal monsters for some RARE materia).

Before I actually forget:

Did you guys discover a 'Rusty Old Key' in a town near the Temple of the Anicents?
I remembered clearly it was for a fake door in a shop.

However, this 'Rusty Old Key' didn't appear in your key item list even though is stated recieved Key Item ' Rusty Old Key'.

Did anyone encounter this?

I think when you put the key in the door the key breaks, and then clound gets mad and kicks the door? I'm not sure if I remember correctly though because my one friend told me this. I think the guy gives you an item though.

Well the team is complete, I have Cid and the Tiny Bronco. Images 14,15 and 16 are clues as to where the 'best' level up area is at this stage (and why)

Sea Worm
EXP: 1300
AP: 200 (400 for Cloud as he has the Rune Blade).
Gil: 5000 (w00t!)

Also got one of the Swords for Cloud that can't be bought from Rocket Town....but of course you know to speak to the old guy...right.

No save attached, but a nice pretty set of pictures.

You find a rusty key, try to open the door on the backwall of a shop in Mideel, the key breaks, the shop keeper tells you that the door is painted on and gives you an item.

I started to replay this on my PS2 in preperation for the FF: AC US release I get to where you have to scale that wire to get to Shinra's office but my PS2 freezes solid as soon as the screen turns black.

I'm now trying to work up the nerve to restart from the begining with ePSXe.

I'm so glad I have a PC hooked up to my YV, almost as good as the console

If you're still keen on the PS2, you could always try ejecting the disc and switching it for another disc at that point for a few screens until you get past it and then switch back. As far as I know all the discs contain the same data on them except for movies. And for those wondering, the entire game story line is kept in scene.bin on each disc.

You can still run it in D3D mode, but just make sure VSYNC is turned on for Direct3D. That way, certain game sequences wont run too fast (Midgar motorcycle chase, Chocobo races, ski mini-game, etc.).

Well, my laptop hard drive died yesterday, so it looks like I'll have to use one of CKemu's saves.
