Hey, it isn't a race game I myself play RPGs so slowly as well, trying to catch every treasure chest and gain some levels from time to time. I remember having level about 60 at the end of disc 1 when I was playing FF7 for the second time

well, remember they also did a remake of FF6 with FF7 style graphics when the PSX came out. and they never made that into a game

Damn, I can't run the game for some reason, I don't know anything about these "Direct3D" and "OpenGL" plugins.

I miss my Voodoo

Then again, I only tried FF7, maybe it just don't work for some reason. I should have tried other games first. Ah well, I can always play it on my buddy's PS2 down the hall anyway.

I do get everything in that time, hehe. Choco breeding takes the longest, and at that, only a hour or two.

P.S. It's much more simple to wait 'till you get to the end of the game to level. Then you can go down into the crater and fight enemies which give you major experience. That, with experience materia, you get to level 99 within a couple more hours.

I'm about lvl 20 (all characters) right before the Midgar Zolem. I'm hoping to kill the Zolem like CKemu.

I barely mangaed to kill the Midgar Zolem. Tifa died and Barret was thrown out of the battle. I got the enemy skill though,

Well, I tried both Kane's (from his website) and CKemu's (from this thread). The game just didn't work.

I even switched to PEOpS for a while and it still didn't work, so my video config wasn't really the problem if that's the case. Then I thought it was a problem with that new Eternal beta, so I changed to PEOpS for that too; still nothing.

I didn't really have time to pick the issues apart, I might get it working sometime.

I remember first time I played FF7 I didn't know how to get across where the snake is so I just leveled up the full time. I was on about level 60 by the end of disk one too. I played it the second time around I wondered why it seemed a little harder, haha.

You don't need a chocobo to pass the creature, you just wait 'till it's as far as it can (roughly) go, facing the other way. The time it takes the creature to turn around and come at you gives you about a 1 second window to get across the swamp.

Aw man, all this talk is making me want to start over, sheesh. I've gotta finish my current game so I can do so.

Mako Eyes, im sure you can play FF7 dude. unless you're running a 500mhz P3 and a POS gfx card, you have a running chance. we can discuss it in this thread, it's still on topic. i mean come on your username is FF7 status you need to be playing this game too while the rest of us are

Modem1: another cheap method is just to run across and right when you're about to get bitten, you save the game. then soft reset (R1 L1 start select L2 R2 i think) and load your save. when you're back, the zolom is gone. just keep doing that

I just started a game. I'm up to Aeris's house now.
I used CK's settings and it looks beautiful, no problems whatsoever.

YES! I'LL TRY IT AGAIN . . . tomorrow . . . after class . . .

Yea, I just never really bothered trying to mess with the settings enough. I'll get it working though, I will.

Now that you mention it, the BEST machine I had so far for PSX emulation was a Pentium3 500mhz with a Voodoo3 3000 AGP and a Soundblaster 128

6th save, just outside Cosmo Canyon, haven't driven past the Canyon so buggy is still usable if you want to explore.
