Oh thanks for those! Yes it was International Karate.
I was 2-3 years old when I grabbed the Joystick then. Only move I could execute on will was the Down+Fire one, which produced a "Slip kick" as I used to call it

And my bro used to deliver that punch straight to the stomach with a *Dhush.....orh* kind of sound.

The games I played most after that were Contra, Ice Climbers and of course Mario.

Yeah I remember those days as well. I had some problems with playing Zelda: Link's Awakening on GB because my english was very poor. I think I was 8 back then so all the English I knew was what I picked up from english cartoons. I never read anything in English, I only heard it. I still remember going to my mom to ask her to translate things

Btw, some other games worthy to mention as 'first games' are Lotus Racing, and SMB/Duck Hunt, and Dynablaster (Bomberman 2 on NES)

Well I gotta say my first game was Mario 1, on nes. (holy ****, it's been over ten years!)

But mario wasn't the game that made me addicted... I remember a game that was samson or something like that. can't remember... I lost the game when I borrowed it to someone... I really played that thing...

Greetings,

Either Jungle Hunt, River Raid, Dig Dug, or Pole Position for Atari. I was very young at the time, so kinda hard to remember. (20 years ago! )

However, the first game that I really got into was either Dragon Warrior or Adventure Island 1 for NES. I played Dragon Warrior first I think , then less than a month later my parents rented an NES for my birthday with Adventure Island. The next year they bought me an NES, with the mario/duck hunt combo and Dragon Warrior. I'm guessing my relatives told them how much I loved the game and couldn't be torn away from the little 10" black and white TV I was playing it on.

The chronology of these events is not definite.

Considering the type of games that I mostly played, it's not hard to understand how my current tastes developed. Classics like Crystalis, all the Dragon Warrior games, Final Fantasy, the Magic of Sheherazade, and of course The Legend of Zelda were transcendental experiences to last a lifetime.

Sincerely,
TastEPlasma

PS Hmm, 100th post. 100 posts / ~1521 days = .066 posts per day, or 15.21 days between posts. Roughly. I must really love NGEmu, I don't think I have ever made 100 posts on a message board before. That, or I have been rambling on to much about personal **** that no one cares about like how many posts I have on a board or how I ramble on about it.

My first electronic game per se would've either been a round bright yellow device that plays only pacman. Next would be Donkey Kong on a Game and Watch and a couple of others.

But console wise, it was a 20 in 1 cartridge for Family Computer. I can't recall anymore exactly which one I delved into, but most likely it's Super Mario 1.

*blink* *blink*

Almost 18 years ago... wow.

I remember playing Oregon Trail when I was in elementary school. I think it was on a Macintosh? I thought it was soo cool back then. There was this other one where you moved this monster around the screen and he ate whatever you put him on. Another one of those school games.

Our parents ended up getting us an Atari 2600 for Christmas. I remember that only 'cause one of the Star Wars movies was on tv for the first time. We kept bouncing between the rooms watching the movie and playing Centipede.

I didn't really get into gaming until the NES. We had a couple hundred games before we ended up getting rid of it. 8 Eyes was one of my favorites. That hawk was freaking killer!

I am thinking the name of this game is Number Munchers. It was math based, yes? Definetly one of the best edutainment pieces.

Although I already had my NES by then, I too remember the likes of Oregon Trail (awesome!), Number Munchers (fun), Carmen Sandiego (Ok), and this really old game where you mined up ores and tried to identify them based on a classical procedure that used hardness, fracture, color, and some other physical properties.

Yeah, I remember playing that one too. But I played it on an Atari 2600. I used to think that the elevators were REALLY cool.

First game I played was Hang On/Safari Hunt on the Master System. I was 6 years old, I think it was 1991.
My brother first game was Daytona on the Dreamcast, he started playing that, just before he turned 4 this year, and he was pretty decent at it.
What a difference.
