Hum wrong, all demos were rendered in realtime with renderware. They weren't ingame scenes, but were rendered in realtime with the PS3.

I just read that a Sony representative said the GPU is going to be bit less powerfull than 7800GTX but still more than 2x6800Ultra in SLI. As i know Xbox 360's ATI R500 too is very close to 7800GTX which means both consoles will have similar visuals ?(except PS3's dual progressive output). Can someone confirm that?
About the PS3 videos -if they indeed were shown realtime does that means the PS3 dev kits are im ,more advanced stage than Xbox's ,despite that PS3 will ship more than half a year later ,or they were playing on normal Macs /PCs ?

By the way parts of those specs are wrong, while ps3 has one processer and core @3.2 ghz + 7 Spe's, xbox 360 has 3 symetrical cores each running at 3.2 ghz (1 1/2 or 2-3 times more processing power than PS3) Also the Xbox 360's Gpu is more powerful than Ps3's Rsx gpu making X360's gpu a genererion beyond current gpu's (do your research) I've read articles, researched on websites and various other sources) Try http://www.ign.com for info. From comparatively analyzing and comparing screenshots of the two consoles the graphics looks exactly similer, the only reason some of the games on X360 look the same as xbox is like some of the PS3 screenshots, devs don't always utilize the full power of the console, as noted with ps2 and the smackdown series, the first game SD: Just bring it didn't look all that good at first, but as the series moved on the games became more eye appealing and more graphical as you can see if you looked at the recent screenshots of Smackdown vs raw 2006. I really see no difference in graphics like i said, and this time around X360 has more japanese support, And what do you some of you mean when you say none of the games look that good for X360? most of the games they have shown for PS3 are also going to be on Xbox 360, to name a few: Resident evil 5, condemed Criminal origins, wardevil, ut2007, and many more and look equally good between the two consoles. I personally Am not going to shell out $450.00 - $550.00 or more for a ps3 game system which is the estimated price according to reports and ign.com. Also with the Magical Blu-ray, Prices of Ps3 games are going to be through the roof probably like $80.00 - $100.00 per game, Noooo thanks I'll stick with Xbox 360 which is at least $200.00 cheaper for the basic package (which is all I need) than ps3. Heck I could even build half Of a decent gaming pc buying parts off of newegg.com for the price of the ps3 and later on fit it with dual nvidia 7800 gtx's for the ultimate gaming experience, Take my word buying a ps3 would be like selling your soul, dignity, and everything you are to the devil, (not trying to get into a biblical proposition here, just a comparison) sorry if I was offensive, just trying to make a point, I did not mean to offend anyone, Well gotta go, gotta play RS3: ravenshield, some max payne 2, and, some silent hill, cya all.

anyway.. i acutally heard that the ps3 will be around 299$(that is the initial release cost of the ps2)... it this true? and about the blu-ray disk, is it patented by sony? if so... then i guess that it wouldnt be pirated... but still, there are the ps2 and ps1 games to play,heheh...

was released in all the platforms i know, do u think that it will be in the ps3 also?

just my thoughts, the xbox 360 is more powerful than the PS3.. in graphics terms.

The reason is this : the RSX GPU that nvidia had made for the PS3 is basically a lower power version of the 7800 GTX GPU.. hell, even my geforce 6800 GT is almost as good as the PS3's gpu in that case.. which it probably is.

While the ATI GPU is 50mhz slower than nvidia's, it has better architecture to help in the long run.

the only thing that puts the xbox down is the storage.. other than that i think both systems will be pretty even.

the bottom line is obviously this, the PS3 will be caught up quicker by PC hardware.. it will take a little longer for the pc hardware to catch up with ati's chip on xbox.. probably their R580 that is being developed, then all the eyecandy will be back with the PC once again, like always.

you know, i really, seriously doubt that just 50 MHz will make that much of a difference to put the ps3 down.....

anyway, do u think that the ps3 will be able to use the commercial portable USB hard disk drives?.

I wasnt talking about the 50Mhz making a huge difference, it wont be noticable unless benchmarked, more than likely. I was stating that ati's gpu seems to be better suited than PS3's thats all.

No clue if ps3 will be able to use USB hard disk drive, but since it can use USB.. i wouldnt have thought it would be much a problem to do so.

yes the PS3 graphics does look good, in fact.. from what i have seen so far the PS3 and 360 seem to be on the same level.

dunno about drive cost for the ps3.. shouldnt be too expensive

and yes more than likely psp will be able to be used as a controller, it can communicate with PS3 and supposedly xbox 360 also..

man we all have to thank theinquirer and the teamxbox.com (tho u cant really blame them for being too hopeful for this kinda news) for spreading that around...anyway...check out this page on Gamespot's Rumor Control. so basically, with the 7800gtx being twice the performer of 6800ultras in sli in certain circumstances.....well u get the picture.

to me it seems like some devs are confused as to how to handle the xbox!$&!'s new gpu pipeline architecture whereas the ps3's seems to have a more conventional one that everyone is more comfortable working with. in effect it seems like xbox!#$^!#$ has the more friendly CPU (i think ???) but a less friendly GPU and the ps3 is the other way around...only more powerful on both fronts

Twice as fast as an SLI setup.. maybe thats true, but SLI only increases performance for certain games and some of them have little to no effect.

By the time the PS3 is out, either better cards will be here for the PC.. or will soon be

xbox games are PC games like. i play mostly on pc ... they just port games over to xbox and otherwise. take a look on hitman etc...

As for RPGs, next generation, both systems are going to be getting decent original series by the makers of Chrono Trigger, Xenosaga/Gears, and Dragon Quest. Some of the new Final Fantasy games may make it to the XBOX 360 as well, perhaps with variations over the PS3 versions and vice versa. There are going to be alot of improvements for Final Fantasy XI when it reaches XBOX 360 both graphics and speedwise. no more annoying 640x480 + abillity to use XBOX live with it = yes.

No, I read in some gaming magizine that microsoft said they cant because it it mostly of the shelf parts.

It has wireless 802.11x support for this purpose. Whether or not it will be able to browse the net, rather than just play online games I don't know. My guess would be that some sort of browser would be included with it for simple web browsing.
