personally, i think that ps3 is gonna take eveyone's breath away.....
it is so beautiful and cool....
i accutally heard that ps3 will be around 299$, i.e , the initial market price of ps2....

if you all had the cash to afford them , which one would you choose?

With my current attitude towards gaming I seriously doubt I will be getting a next-gen console at all. IF I will be getting one it will be after the pricedrops and when Nintendo has released the Revolution. I won't be buying a console just for it's specs so I really want to see what kind of games will be released. I think the PS3 might appeal more because I do like RPG's alot. Honestly there will be only one reason for me to buy a nextgen console: Shenmue 3 ^^
Hopefully there will be a 3rd game made for one console only so it can really be a showcase just like the Shenmue games on DC are. If that game is going to be released I'm pretty sure it will be the decisive factor to me

the ps3 includes 6 usb ports so i dont think thats what they meant when they meant removable harddrive. possibly more like what xbox is doing...using a laptop drive.

some ppl already know i like the PS3 so ill be getting that instead of the xbox!#$&!.

tho, id like some things to be cleared up. such as whether or not the other memory card formats (such as compact flash I and II, SD, etc) that the console supports can be used as memory for games O__o. i remember it was rumored that it cud and then suddenly another rumor started whereby it was said that "games would be saved to memory stick" or smthn like that. this is an area of concern for ppl that have microdrives (compact flash) that are able to hold 2-8 gigs of memory and make much better mem cards than the memory stick in my opinion.

as for the price of the ps3, if it does in fact retail for $299 USD, it wud be pretty much a steal, since the bluray drive itself has been announced to be $100 USD @_____@

Xbox 360 all the way. It's controller isn't a ****ing banana and Xbox is where it's at for FPS (the only games I play) and possibly sports games. The Playstation's library of games has always been weak as far as I'm concerned.

Halo 1, 2, and 3
DOOM3 (the best fps ever made)
Quake 4
Unreal Championship/Tournament 2007

The console for those games alone is worth it IMO. Plus, there's a bunch of sports games also. And, there's the hard drive to put music and **** on.

but when we talk about the grahics... PS3 rules! just look at the pictures!
even ingame, the evironment can hardly be distinguished from reality!
and the movies... i cant say anything about it,,, it is SO real...
they released xbox 360 just to compete against the ps3.....nothing more or nothing less....
the games for ps3 are plentyful.... i dont see why you say that playstation has a poor choice of games.....

I beg to differ, the PC is where it's at for FPS...no Console is suited for FPS games. Mouse/keyboard is the ONLY control scheme that comes even close to working acurately...
ALL of the games you mention are/will be avalible for PC with improved Graphics and features...

Oh! lol I didn't know that (more lol). Anyways.. Ill be gettin a Revolution, just bc of the backwards compatibility(I miss the old games lol..), and when the PS3 and XBOX 360 has their stablished market, I can alway sell the Revolution to a fanboy(if it don't dissapoints me), and buy the one with the best games(the masterplan ).

didn't you hear about 2 usb ports in ps2 into which you can plug keyboard and mouse? Did you play Killzone? It gives better feeling on dualshock 2 than with mouse and keyboard (I tried both) of course your aim will be better with mouse, but that's not Quake 3 Arena

Anyway you should edit your post and delete this sentence, or write there fpp library

yeah, kanedA is right.... there are much much more games in playstation than xbox.... morever, the xbox 360's controller looks like.... i dont know, it looks so FLOP!!! i guess the ps3 controllers are wirless, and there are 6 usb ports, meaning that there are so many addons to the ps3....
playstation 2 officially defeated the xbox(i have the newspaper clipping )and xbox 360(like i said before) was made just to Defeat the ps3... which I THINK WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!!

When I look at those specs, it makes me think that X-Box 360 is gonna die. The X-Box became popular because it was the most powerful system and had full HDTV support and good online play even though the games were crappy. The PS3 looks like it is a much more powerful system than X-Box360, and we already know that the PS3 is gonna get all the good games, so unless the PS3 has next-to-nothing for online support, I think the X-Box360 sales are gonna be pretty low.

Last time, I was too much into RE and I used to to think that GC had RE and PS2 had everything else and XBOX is a cheap solution to PC gaming. This time round, its really too early to say. RE is gonna be on both the consoles.

But considering all we know, no matter how cool or big be the bucket, its useless without the water. The PS3 seems to be really powerfull, but untapping that full power will take time I suppose but its good, considering the fact that the first generation of games already look so uber marverlous. (talking about the Mobile Suite trailer, Unreal engine, Final Fantasy, etc). PS3 seems to be the bigger and cooler bucket right now. Now let's consider if its gonna get enough water. Even on the software side, I find the PS3 to be quite good. You got Tekken, Final Fantasy, Killzone (considering its anything like that CGI), Unreal stuff, Devil May Cry and MOST importantly........Metal Gear Solid 4. MGS4 alone is a good enough reason for me to buy the PS3. As of now, I don't find anything worthy of interest on the X side.

Sports = EA = ON EVERY GODDAMN MACHINE THAT CAN EVEN REMOTELY BE CALLED A GAMING DEVICE.

FPS = best with mouse/keyboard and console+FPS = bad bad bad.

PS library weak.....erh, oh yes. Over thousands of titles from over 10 years including some of the best games EVER made is weak. Halo is strong...figures.

personally i didnt even bother replying to the lack of games on the playstation comment since i knew a bunch of u guys wud rough him up for it

anywho...ps3 will be supporting USB keyboard and mouse usage on FPS games. what this circumstance means for ppl stuck using controllers playing against ppl using KB/mouse during online games is a different issue entirely that shudnt be discussed in this thread ....

its not a doubt about it.... ps3 has the best stock of games in the whole WORLD! now,ps3 being faster than 80% of the home comuters in the world is really gonna be a blast....i mean just look at that speed and graphic card!
what do u think about the beauty of the ps3? i think that xbox 360 IS JUST A COPY OF PS2.......

hahahahahahah, xbox 360 being a copy of ps2, that's pretty rich. You should join up with a comedy club. I'm planning on getting two consoles, and I haven't decided as to which I will get, but I'm sure, no matter the choice, I won't end up being disappointed. Alot of the XBOX games I have played have been well designed, and some had issues that bugged me. PS2 has alot of great games that I've played as well, Wild Arms 3, FFX, and Rygar are really great games. And, If you have seen the difference between GTA3 on PS2 and XBOX, you can clearly see who is more powerful. But that doesn't matter, as I've had fun with both systems, and both systems have had their good and bad qualities. I actually prefer online games with sony then with microsoft. Next generation, that should change however. Anyways, wait until the consoles come out, test them at your target/gamestop/walmart/wherever you will get yours, and then decide before going all fan crazy towards one or the other. That's what I'm going to do.

The difference between the consoles by hardware isn't so big like ps2 vs xbox1 ,we'll see what the legendary cell can make(and cost )

About the E3 2005 presentation every game except Gods of war( or whatever was the name) were running on alpha hardware (normal G5 Mac),which is estimated to has 25-35 % of the final xbox 360(has only one CPU ,times more slower video),that's why in some games several models got less poly than the xbox 1 .Only gods of war was running on beta hardware but it is less than 90% powerfull and the programmers didnt had much time spent with it before the presentation cos MS shipped them very late.

About the Tekken teaser -nice grapx....prerendered(hey 3ds max rulz). It's the same to say that the warcraft III intro is "cut-scene" or even worse,in-game.I expect nvidia's GPU to be much more powerfull than ati's but less than 2 times.
