However because I dont have SBlive the music still sounds less than good, so when I read in this thread that there was a mod that would let me replace the midi with mp3's, my hopes in finding something that would let the wonderful music from FF8 play from my speakers in all its glory was renewed. |

The differences between the PC and PSX versions: PC 640x480 Max Resolution /-- if you have graphics issues (nVidia cards), google "ff8 launcher" 16-bit colour palette Better FMV clarity Anti-aliasing/anisotropic filtering capable /--must be forced by a 3rd-party program like nHancer More accurate polygon vertices /-- compared to PSX emulation GF-Siren does not need to be at Lv.100 to convert 100 Curse Spikes into 1 Dark Matter Omega Weapon's difficulty follows the same rules as every other monster. PSX 320x240 Max Resolution /-- basic standard-def resolution for PSX console 24-bit colour palette Better FMV colours /-- no colour banding Better music/audio GF-Siren must be at Lv.100 to convert 100 Curse Spikes into 1 Dark Matter Omega Weapon is ALWAYS at Level 100. ** The PC version also comes with a PC-copy of Chocobo World that was only available for the PocketStation in Japan, it's the only way you can get the 'Ribbon' ability. |

Thank you cyric1983 for summing up the pros and cons of the psx and pc version of the game. Based upon the information I have now I have decided to play the PSX version with ePSXe. Thanks for clearing things up for me, I appreciate it
