Which girl did you choose in FF7 for cloud?

Tifa or Aeris.
For me I chose Tifa, but just because it was younger than Cloud, unlike Aeris and the fact that Cloud joined soldier just to impress her. Ok she has something there too

Aeris for me as well, too bad she died that was really a surprise! It's not exactly common to main characters, that you control in the party to die, in J-rpgs!

I'm pretty sure you don't even have Yuffie at that stage of the game... you should only have Cloud, Tifa, Aeris and Barret.

I have chosen Tifa, not only because her..uhm..chest have more polygons but also because he's Cloud's childhood sweetheart.

Anyway, have anyone noticed the path square is taking on love triangles? Look at FFXII, very odd similarities with FFVII's:

Ashe (older than Vaan) = Aeris (Older than Cloud)
Penelo (Martial arts expertee) = Tifa (Martial arts expertee)
Vaan (Blonde) = Cloud (Blonde)

Only this time they've ditched Ashe as Vaan's love interest, as they indirectly ditched Aeris as Cloud's love interest by killing her.

Hmm..just my thoughts.

*Minor Spoilers*

I thought it was interesting how in FF7-10 the main characters were always secretly 'fake'/dreamlike.

FF7: Cloud was a puppet of sorts, created from Zack's memory.
FF8: Squall shared the memory of Laguna.
FF9: Zidane was created on Terra.
FF10: Tidus was a dream from Zanarkand.

It is a bit strange =/.

Not necessarily, Elone was the one allowing Squall to share Laguna's experiences. She has like MAGIKUL SYKIC PWAHS or something.

Wrong, but based on the complexity of the story of FF7 (with several important plot points in hidden scenes), not to mention the bad traslation, I can see why you might get that idea. Actually Cloud was always just Cloud; the same Cloud that grew up in Nibelheim and the same Cloud he always believed he was. But as a result of experiments done to him in the Shinra mansion after he killed the original Sephiroth, he got seriously messed up by being injected with Jenova cells. That's why Sephiroth's clones were able to control him as a puppet later and why his memory was so muddled.

Spoilers:

Squall didn't share Laguna's memories, he only dreamt of them (Dreams made by Ellone).
Anyway, It's not just FF7-10. In FF4 Celes never knew he was from the moon or that Golbez was his brother. And in FF6, Terra never knew about her past.

Tifa. Im always ditching Aeris and spoiling Tifa.
If you manage to choose Tifa, you get some... nice... dialogue at one point, aswell as some fun comments.

Right, but the point is, the personality of Cloud that they all know (except Tifa, who knew him as a child) is really Zack's. The Nibelheim incident, combined with the experimentation and Cloud's own mental weaknesses gave rise to him believing a false past, where he accepts parts of Zack's life as his own. His sword, his hair style, even the way he talks and his body language are all truly Zack's, not his own.

I don't know why people always say this. In the Final Fantasy series itself death amongst main characters was already pretty common. Final Fantasy IV is a playable character death-fest. FF6 had even more death in general, but not so much the playable characters

As for the initial question, I always choose Tifa. It's not about her looks, I just like Tifa's personality alot more... although she could have made Cloud's life alot easier if she had told him how she remembered Nibelheim alot sooner, before Sephiroth could **** with him and make him question his existence. Plus Cloud and Tifa have the whole history and everything... Aeris just annoys me. I must be one of the 1% who was pretty much unmoved when she died.

Tifa. I hated Aeris from the getgo. I found her really annoying and was glad to be rid of her when she died.

For some reason I seem to remember having a date with Vincent. I could be horrabily wrong, but I played through the game many times and this was one event I wanted to see all possable angles of. First time was Aries, second Tifa, then I tryed for Barret, but I had Yuffie so I got her, then came Barret and my muddled memory of Vincent, it was just like Barrets "date."
