Area 51 for XBOX Question

I'm specifically talking about the recent game Area 51 by Midway for the PS2 and XBOX. My question is, is this game considered like a remake or sequel or something to the classic lightgun arcade shooter Area 51 also by Midway. Naturally since it's the same name and company I would like to think so, but I want other people's input on this.

Well, I read on the IGN review that the only similarity between these two is the name. So yes, they're entirely different things.
