FF8-where do I go now!?

I'm playing FF8 and have no idea where to go next. I have arrivd in esthar, found Dr.Odine and am trying to find lunar gate. I am kind of lost, and have ended up in the place Laguna was being held.
Any help will be appriciated.

PS. are my players weak? here they are:
