D&D rules help

guys, i cant find a copy of the rules. i know some of it, but what i dont know is the weapon stats. what does a 1d6 2x20 or somethin like that mean. so i would know which weapon is good. thanks

1 D6 is the damage roll (1-6).
The other figure is usualy the critical multiplier/chance. Normally something like 2x19-20.
That means if on the to hit roll, you get a 19 or 20 (I think it's based on a D20) you multiply the damage roll by the critical multiplier.

thank you very much for your help. i finally found a copy of the rule, but i only read about the 1d6 thingy, but i couldnt find out anything about that critical hit. thanks again

I remember reading about the rules in a PDF-format manual of Baldur's Gate 2, you might want to look for that one or ask me nicely to give it to you
