New Game Featuring FF and DQ Characters

A scan from the upcoming issue of Shounen Jump has revealed a new game, titled "Itadaki Street Special", featuring both Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters. Cloud as well as Tifa have been shown in super-deformed form wearing their original FFVII outfits and one of the stages in the game will be Midgar. The game is a special edition of Enix's Itadaki Street and plays like a board game. It will be available on the PS2 in Japan in Winter 2004.

Other characters from FF world appearing are : Yuna , Paine , Rikku .

Now that's strange , Cloud is now competing with Mario in number of games in

(ff7, KH, Ehrgeiz, KH chain of memories, KH2, this game, Chocobo racing, FF7-BC, FFT ) 10 games , and that's as much as i remember now

Hmm, basically, a Mario Party clone with FF characters ?

*EDIT* The persons to blame for the over-use of the FF7 characters like Cloud aren't SquareEnix, but us, we kept hyping FF7, saying how it'd be cool to have a sequel or something, it didn't take long to them to understand that they could turn it into a cash cow, milk it until it dries, and then scrap it once no one cares about FF7 anymore.

What's next? A dating sim with FFXXX characters and a FPS featuring (once again) Cloud? Square sure is running out of ideas... though I must say I'm amazed... this isn't another remake!

A couple things:
-This game isn't ripping Mario Party -- the series has been around for a MUCH longer time.
-As far as I know, FFVII-BC is not even going to touch upon the story of Cloud -- it just sort of follows the Turks around (Hell, it may have more to do with Vincent).

You are missing the point... they are ripping the concept of Mario Party by putting Square characters into it in order to sell the game... it's not about which characters have been around the most time but who came with the original concept first... and that's Mario Party.

Wrong , Cloud is there as a soldier , and the probability that u'll find Vincent is small because he is supposed to be under the Shinra mansion , and no one knows except Hojo .

Well most likely unconventional games like the ones seen in Mario Party... Battlechess was fun, IIRC it even spawned one based on the Star Wars universe (released on the SegaCD)...
