Finally I finished Valkyrie Profile!!!!!

I'm glad 'cause I finished that wonderful game. First I used the epsxe v160 until that game started crashes in the 3 or 4 chapter. Then I changed the emulator for epsxe v152 until I finished the all game, that means, first and the second disc.

The configuration that I used was as follows

VIDEO

psx emulation cheater 2.5

select device: primary

Resolutions & colors
fullscreen mode: 1024x768 default
color depth: 32 bits
window mode: size: 800x600
stretching: stretch to full window size
dithering: no dithering (fastest)

Framerate
use FPS limit
auto-detect FPS/frame skip limit
FPS limit (10-200): 60 fps

Options
scanline mode: scanlines disabled

SONIDO

activar sonido (activa el sonido ADPCM)
activar sonido XA(activa sonido XA en el MDEC)

peops dsound audio driver 1.7

General settings
mode: 2: use SPUasync (must be supported by the emu)
volume: 1: medium
reverb: 2: PSX reverb (best quality)
interpolation: 3: cubic interpolation (better treble)

XA music
enable XA playing
change XA speed, if it is played too fast (more cpu power needed)

Misc
SPU IRQ - wait for CPU action (Valkyrie Profile and MGS)

CDROM

peops cdr driver 1.4

interface: w9x/ME - ASPI scsi commands
drive: "my own drive"
read mode: BE_2(ATAPI SPEC 2)
catching mode: async read - faster, additional asynchronous reads

use subchannel SBI/M3S info file (recommended)

Note: I always played using ISO's, 'cause I didn't like use my cdrom drive. I made them using the clone cd software (v4.3.3.1). With this configuration I could finished the game.

Specially the cheat save anywhere! 'cause I had read in a web page that cheat can resolve some problems when you had saved in the memory card. So guys, I recommend use them with psx emulation cheater (pec). Also I used the save states but only one, the first only and for me the game worked very well in windows Millenium. So I hope that little explanation can work with you.

I liked the game but unless you went to gamefaqs there is no way to get the best ending and the B ending story is lame in comparison. That and limited time to complete events ruined a very good game.
