Really though what series thoes it still have that we even cared about? Turok: The last one sold and played horribly. If this series is picked up, I'll be surprised, and the only saving grace is if it's something revolutinary. Nba Jam: ...Last good Nba jam game? I'll stick to EA Burnout: Now EA Worms: Team17 will still live, so blah. Shadowman:..While the first one was cool, never got into the other. (doubtful it would have been continued anyways) The only two games that Akklaim even had me excited about was "The Red Star" and "100 Bullets" which both have already been picked up by other studios. *shrugs* ...The only thing I feel bad about is the loss of jobs those people have now.

Didn't they do some game called Mortal Kombat or something. Piece of crap IIRC. There's little of Acclaim's that I'll miss which hasn't been taken up.

DON'T mock mortal kombat! First three games (plus ultimate/trilogies) were great! Though 4 was piece of crap indeed, unfortunately.

I agree to u MaZa dude. Mortal kombat rocks, although the MK4 wasn't that bad. I will be waiting eagerly for deception. Too bad Akklaim had to shut down.

About combos, they were indeed very mechanic, and in Mk3, they were more like special moves than combos. But they were still very good looking. Superfast fists and spinkicks without even hope to block them all. Oh, and those inhuman screams. I can still remember how Liu Kang sounded like when my J. Cage did his Nads cracker punch... Ouch... MK - Deadly Alliance remakes fighting system to completely new. Instead basic high/low punch and kicks, every character has two unique fighting styles which you can switch, even inside combo. From kungfu to taekwondo and karate to tangsoodo and drunken boxing and so on... Very interesting looking and quite unique. Well, i have seen no game that has fighting system similar to that.

IMO MK is better than Street Fighter. Though i stopped playing SF after Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, so i dont know are later ones good... I got extremely bored after those endless revivals. SF2, SF2 champ.ed, SF2 Turbo, Super SF2, Super SF2 Turbo, Hyperblahblahbhah yadayadayada...

MK isn't even an Acclaim game. Acclaim published MK1 and MK2, but both were developed by Midway. After MK2, Acclaim didn't even publish the MK games - they were all developed by Midway and Avalance, and published by Midway themselves, or by Williams. Anyway, I agree that the early MK's were more gimmick than substance, but I actually really really liked Deadly Alliance and I'm looking forward to Deception.

Hey they played a part in the Double Dragon games for the NES!! DD2 and DD3 were among the best games of the whole system IMHO!! Too bad I can't find games like that anymore nowadays...... /reminder to myself: Perhaps I should try the Beats of Rage mods for the DC

Need a screenshot Yes those were published by Acclaim, produced by Technos IIRC.It took me some time as well to get used to the switching buttons for kick and punch in DD2, also I had to get used to the fact you weren't able to kick to the front. Because I first played DD3. But DD2 had a nice grapple move (the upward kick). And the hard hitting knee

Technos is dead company AFAIK aswell, so Double Dragons seem to be history now. Time to drop hopes for new releases for modern system.
