Because it wasn't great. The Naomi h/w was better and avaliable at the same time. Just look at SF3 on the DC, and that's a crippled Naomi. The CPS2 H/W was kept for so long because until it's demise there wasn't really anything that could handle 2d as well as it, and it had Q-Sound.

2 years for a hardware means they made a bad setup for the project . But still cps3 showed cooler animation than naomi (SF3IIIstrike > CVS2)

I've heard that CPS3 boards are extremely fragile. And will short out some easily that they may have figured that it was more trouble than its worth.

uh. sf 3rd strike was ported to dc (=nearly the same as naomi), to my knowledge with all the animation in there.
the fact cvs2 doesnt have as much is lazyness on capcom's part

They made another H/W? I thought they just moved to other people's arcade H/W.

what i heard is that they made Naomi with help of Sega . That's why Capcom made all the titles for this h/w (may be i'm wrong too)

Uh..... you're quite wrong there. Naomi predates CPS3 by a couple of years IIRC.

Capcom had no part in the development of naomi, i think cloudvii has the wrong idea here.

Well , the last game for CPS3 to my knowledge was SF3 3rd strike on 1999 . while CVS1 was released on 2000 for Naomi . So where are the 2 years ?

yes i guess so , but i also said i'm not sure , i wasn't saying facts

naomi is sega hardware; the first naomi arcade games date from 1998.
the first cps-3 games date from 1999 (third strike was 2000)

My apologies, you are right. The CPS3 predates Naomi by one year. However Capcom did not have any part in the development of the H/W. NEC played the biggest role in that, Yamaha produced the sound chip, Hitachi the CPU and MS the OS (for the DC). Capcom in fact dropped the CPS 3 in favour of the CPS 2 for a couple of games. Obviously it was too expensive for a really not that great graphical improvement (IMO)

actually, ever since there was 320x240 16-bit color the improvements in 2D hardware/software have been marginal, graphically.

Depends on how much work they put in the game. SF3 was a huge graphic improvement over the SF games on the CPS2 board. Haven't played Warzard or Jojo so I can't say how much improved they were over the CPS2 games that capcom made (if any at all).

Jojo's bizarre was nice , i played it's version on DC , it surpasses SFA3 anytime . But in terms of gfx only , as the gameplay wasn't my best part

I play some games with qsound but i can't hear what is all about. Whats the difference with all the different sound chips incorporated in other arcade boards?

I kinda share ur opinion , as i didn't find qsound as incredible as they were referring to . but things are different when it comes to SFex games as Qsound there was near CD quality .

QSound is impressive if you use Nebula with DS3D enabled
