First Doom 3 Review

I was checking out Teamxbox's forums and found that PC Gamer has reviewed Doom 3.

The topic creator there posted this:

Highs: Extraordinary graphics and sound; incredible tension, atmosphere, and mayhem.

Lows: Some stabs at humor fall a bit flat.

Bottom Line: Just as we'd hoped, it's a non-stop ride of tension, carnage and terror. A new classic.

Multiplayer:
1v1, DM, Team DM, and Last Man Standing. There are 5 DM maps shipping with the game.

94%

I'm getting ready for playing with all my lights off, headphones on and cranked to the max.. I wonder how scary it will be? At times in the alpha I got kinda scared, so..

IIRC, they thought it detracted from the horror aspect, so they left it out of the PC version.

Whew. I knew it wouldnt be ready yet. I mean, its just over year late, so it cannot be finished yet. I wonder how my old Radeon8500Le runs this. Other parts of my system are close enough to latest stuff, but... Damn, it looks sooo cool.

Looks like it won't be as PC friendly as people thought.

The alpha didn't work here, all the textures were black :/ Let's see how did they manage to make this monster run on a GF4MX...

I think its something like:

Resolution: 512x384

Color depth: 16bit

Texture detail: Very low

Model detail: Very low

Geometry detail: Very Low

Shadows: None

Dymamic lightning: None

Pixel & Vertex Shading: Off (Not supported by graphicscard)

And frames will still be about 30 of 60fps. So, i wish you happy gaming. Ok, i think it wont be that bad. But i still fear my 8500le will fry up...

Co-op is coming to the PC version as well, but as a mod.

Thank god. I wanna play with others. I think the multiplayer would probably be boring and repetitive.
