Sacred: Opinions ?

First, note that i own both Diablo II and its expension. Im aware its not an rpg but i love both games. Now im presented with Sacred, a somewhat clone of diablo.

So far, it seems like Ascaron took the feedback on blizzard's diablo and fixed it up, so to speak (im aware the games as the companies have no releation what so ever). im enjoying sacred very much even tho the gameplay isnt exactly diablo-like.

I also heard its very buggy, but so far (and with patch v1.66) i havent seen any major bugs (attack someone while mounted on a horse and try to run back, weird animation but nothing wrong).

Id like to hear opinions on the game aswell as if there are any major bugs or what to avoid in order or ruining a save because of those bugs.

i played it for a bit. it is basically a diablo2 clone. it felt new for a while, but quickly it felt as though i'd been playing it for months. its not "new" for very long. ignoring graphics, diablo2 beats it hands down. thats just me though.

I agree on the "new" part, i already gave up on it, got annoyed after dying twice and having to back half a world to get my horse. gets boring quickly really .. but a good game. PS: MAGGOT PERSON ! long time no see

Got it also. Playing a Gladiator. No need to backtrack to your horse. Just whistle and it'll come. Excellent game. Highly recommend it.
sincerely,

Man my brother have put about 120+ hours into it and have gone almost everywhere. Now with 150+ level characters each were besicly board with it. The co-op play is a little flky with some of the quest not being able to complete. Even after updating we still couldn't. The characters are pretty well balanced, except for the Dark Elf's battle fog which you can basicly use to walk thru the game with. It blinds your opponent so he can't hit you. Other than that its good.

sxamiga: if you die, your horse doesnt die with you, it stays there, but its not exactly 'yours' anymore as the mount\unmount\whistle button isnt there anymore.

speaking of horses, i never even bothered with them. they slowed down your attack WAY too much. i tried using it with the wood elf, and i found it useless. with the wood elf, at least, they get that spell that makes them fast, so even that advantage of horse is gone.

overall its a decent game and a good attempt at a diablo clone. but it doesn't offer anything new. its missing the most important element of hack n slash games: items worth finding. already it doesn't have random area generator, so all you're left doing is exping.

p.s. yeah, its been a while, eh Chaos?

there are some special items. there name are written in green and are partof a whole suit (helmet, shoulders,armor,pads.etcc...)
the only thing is those items are very hardto find and they dont seem to be at specific places...

yeah, i've found some of those. but compared to all the other crap that drops, its not really enough to motivate someone like me (who much prefered the items in diablo2) to keep playing. i played through single player once. that was about as much as i could take.

That is kinda cool about the special items though, the more you have on of one suit the more things it adds to your character while wearing the suit.

He said items worth finding, sadly currently you are much more likely to get these "special" items from the shop..

However, its not a lost cause just yet, the way items are dropped/shopped is supposed to be having a big overhaul in the upcomming patch, along with a bunch of other stuff apparently.

it has potential, but not without an item system reworking. not having random maps gets old but thats not something they can patch in...
