Metal Slug Advance

Good news , it'll be released in Japan on the 22nd of july . Some cool updates , like there'll be 2 new characters "Walter" and "Tyra" . There will be some cool addons like collecting "metal slug" cards which will affect your character status

I really think they should do a hi-res version of Metal Slug on the Atomiswave

It's a Naomi board with stripped down 3d IIRC.

Maybe I'm just horrible at MS but I'm hoping its a bit easier than the neo geo versions unless they let you have unlimited lives.

I'm glad the GBA is getting pretty neat games. Back when I had my SNES, I never thought of companies like SNK(-Playmore) and Sega making games to run in a Nintendo console. I guess things do change with the flow of time.

Completely on a side note, regarding all the Atomiswave improvements we're waiting for in the next SNK-P generation of games, I'm not sure if they are up to completely explore the hardware's capabilities. I read on an interview with the nš 3 executive in SNK-P (totally forgot his name) that they didn't switch hardware boards solely to improve the quality of their games -- this wasn't exactly what they had in mind. In fact, as far as gameplay goes, the executive said they were very fine with the MVS board and could use it for years in the future if it depended on that. The very root problem they were having to face with this board was piracy. He said they released KoF 2003 in Japan on a certain date, and only TWO days after that, the game was widely available from China (pirated, of course) to be spread across Asia. And some more days after, the game was dumped and available in the internet for everyone to download. That's when they decided on definitely say "good bye" to the good old MVS system and adopt Sammy's Atomiswave hardware, since it's way more secure against that problem than their now defunct plataform was.

So, considering the above, I'm not very sure if they will be so inclined to explore everything the new hardware offers, at least for now, seeing that their major concern was security against unlicensed copies. On the other hand though, now that they apparently are "fixed" with that issue, perhaps now's when they are able to start putting all effort on making different games, up-to-date with the hardware they'll run on.

(Er... sorry, didn't mean to stray very much from the topic here. )

>>>unless they let you have unlimited lives.
U can change settings from the debug menu , and make u have 99 lives , and other cool features like enabling blood , etc.

Death Metal , I've just read that yesterday , i'm sad SNK is going to remain stupid , i mean we are in the future now , we must get new cool gfx not just playing the same ancient gfx all the time

What I meant was that almost every new GBA game has a card collecting "feature" in it... Damn, I'm tired of all this card thing... yu-gi-oh is dead already! (at least I hope so) :P
