That or you could just buy into the NES rehashes coming out for the GBA. I suppose that's slightly less interesting though...

Gameboy essentially was a Nes as well. It really surprised me when I found out that GBs came out in 1988 or so. I didn't know they had been around that long.

The idea is to build the units yourself. Alas, good 'ole Ben Heck uses machinery that few of you will have access to, so check out the following site if your interested:

http://www.classicgaming.com/nestable/

This has good information, including all the part numbers, for building a portable nes.. Yum.

1989; I got one in 1991 or so and sold it in 1995, thinking that it wouldn't last long anymore anyway....

NES 1988 in the USA. Not too sure about other countries, like Holland, where you are Samor. But here in the USA the NES made it's debut in 1988.
As for the GBA and the SNES: GBA = 32 bit gaphics---Snes = 16 bit graphics.
Graphics are better on GBA. GAB also sports a more powerful processor than the SNES had. Therefore the GBA is the more powerful and, in some ways, the better of the two.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

Thats neat, But it would be cooler if they made one that can use ROMS and SD cards or something to make it really tiny.

There are more factors like Sound and Resolution , as Snes supported more sound channels and more resolution . Let's check Doom games on GBA and SNES , It's obvious that SNES's one is better . But when we look at FFTA and compare it with Bahamut Lagoon , we see that GBA is better
