I got the Doom Collector's Edition, and set up jDoom with high-res textures and 3D models. I almost forgot how much fun Doom was.

StarFlight (Finally managed to slow my computer down enough to use it - trick was to not simulate DOS but to actually emulate it (used an emulator designed to support really odd architectures - dosbox)... in fact, my computer (see primary rig) was barely fast enough... at times it even crawled. Glorious!). You've no idea how long I've been trying to get back into this game... it was actually the first PC game I ever owned, way back in the early 80's. Unfortunately, with all the Windows DOS simulators, I was able to slow the CPU down to playable speeds... but something was still waaay too fast, because battles would be over before the first frame was displayed. Just goes to show that CPU speed isn't the only factor.

The only games I've ever really been hooked on were:

-Unreal Tournament
-The Elder Scrolls 3 (Morrowind, Tribunal, Bloodmoon)
-Star Control 2: The Ur-Quan Masters
-Fallout 2
-Freespace 2

KillerShots: Starflight was also released for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. If you like the game, then I absolutely recommend Star Control 2. StarFlight inspired the creators of Star Control 2. It's partially a rip off storywise, but greatly expanded, set in the Star Control Universe, and imo 100000x better.

The original was also for DOS. There's a free version for Windows/Linux/Mac now, in which you can choose to play it the way it was in DOS, or the way it was on the 3DO, with voices and better music. Filters like 2xSai etc. can also be enabled.
