Interactive movie type games?

What are some interactive movie type games?
Like Metal Gear Solid.
I found a game Dragons Lair 3D which is supposed to be a 3D remake of some old interactive movie game. Gamespot.com gave it a low review score. Has anyone played this?

Your talking about games that have a cinematic feel to it with nice cutscnees that kind of immerse you into the game ... right?

Well I would say RPG's do that quite nicely. If you have a PS2 (whjioch i'm guessing you do, due to MGS) I would say try out Final Fantasy X. Great game, with that cinematic feeling to it.

Try Vagrant Story for sure. Although it doesn't have any voice acting, it is really cinematic, especially its music could belong to a movie.

There are so many games that create a similar feeling like MGS. It's impossible to mention them all.

Ah yes, pretty much any Survival Horror game. Like as Reich said, Resident Evil series and also Silent Hill (very spooky)

To add to what RB said: the old Dragon Lairs are interactive "movie games", while Metal Gear Solid isn't called that way.

If you want the type of thing like MGS, follow RB's lead. Personally, I think one game really outdoes MGS at that movie-feeling: Shenmue 2. (I never played 1)

If you want games like Dragon Lair, however, there are only a few on PC afaik. Sega Mega CD was loaded with such crappy titles, though. So were the 3DO and the CD-I.

Dragons Lair 3D is on PC/XBox/GC the PS2 version was cancelled. I've never played any Dragons Lair games but from reading, I don't think DL 3D is like the original DLs, I don't know though. I'm thinking about getting the PC ver.

I agree with all above.

Resident evils, Dino crisisis, Shenmues, even parasite eve's there is hell bunch of them. Almost all hit games have had cutscenes or fmvs.

I dont have a clue about dragon's lair though.

I saw Dragons Lair 3D in a shop but i didn't buy it. it looked way too cartoonie.

As for games with a cinematic feel. you might wanna try Tenchu : Wrath of Heaven (PS2). though Tenchu 2 : Birth of Stealth Assasains (PS) is one of the best games ive ever played.

Correct, it's not. Some of the original titles were true "interactive movie games". The thing is: the game consists out of movies, and requires a certain action of the user to influence the movie (in actuality, a clip was loaded corresponding to the input the user gave).

Have you ever heard of Road Avenger or Cobra Command on the Sega Mega CD? These are more or less like the original Dragons Lair.

I don't know exactly, but Wing Commander 3 should also be such a movie game...

The second Tenchu is very cinematic, having the best story line, it is the best of the series in my opinion.

Let me get this straight...

Tenchu 2 is for PS1, and Tehchu 1 is for PS2?

I have played part way through Kingdom Hearts.. and it has alot of cutscenes so far. Actually, for the most part the Kingdom Hearts style is exactly the type of game I'm talking about. (I supposed I could to without the gummy ship travel levels though).
I particularly like it how the cutscenes are done with the actual gameplay graphics, not a "movie" sequence (FVM, or FMV or whatever you call em), and the gameplay graphics are good so it works great.

I'd say Xenosaga is the biggest game that I would call an "interactive movie." It has one FMV so long it gives you the chance to save during it TWICE.
